Seemingly Unrelated Negative Binomial (SUNB) estimation
Dear all,
I am trying to estimate a system of equations with a Seemingly Unrelated
Regression. However because of the characteristics of the data I'd like to
do it with a negative binomial estimation. Would anybody know how to
implement a Seemingly Unrelated Negative Binomial (SUNB) estimation in R?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Best regards,
Elisa Lanzi

*** GOODNESS OF FIT FOR BINOMIAL DISTRIBUTED DATA
Hi,
this is probably a very newbie statistical question.
I have some experimental data.
My hypothesis is that the data are binomially distributed with a known N
and p.
I am trying to obtain a sort of p-value to tell me whether or not my
hypothesis is correct.
What can I do with R?
Thank you,
Pier Luca

My Samba Server had a wild time this weekend thanks to alleged power
fluctuations. I'm using Samba 3.x on Fedora 4. My server sits on an APC UPS
that remains in good health. When I arrived this Monday I found that my
MicroTik Router was still up. My Win XP pro AV server was off and my
Fedora/SAMBA box was also off. (all boxes have their own 15min UPS)
The Win XP pro was brought up w/out

Seeking a more efficient way to read in a file
Hi.
I have a matrix stored in a large, tab-delimited flat file. The first row contains column names. Because the matrix is symmetric, the file has lower triangular format, so the second row contains one number, the third row two numbers, etc. In general, row k+1 contains k numbers; the matrix has 3000 rows, so the file has 3001 rows. The file has variable length records, so each row ends

Seeing two networks with Samba
Hi there,
I'm in our dorms at the university, and throughout the dorms we've got a
large windows network with shares on everyone's computer and things. (dorm
network) Inside our dorm, however, we've got a linux box doing ip
masquerading for an internal network. The linux box has 2 ethernet cards,
one which talks to the internal network and one which talks to the dorm

Hardlink+Sieve has never worked. The fix is a bit complicated. Here's my

Hello Ulrik,
Can you please explain this code means how and what this code is doing
because I'm not able to understand it, if you can explain it i can use it
in future by doing some Lil bit manipulation.
Thanks

[LLVMdev] [RFC] Add empty() method to iterator_range.
Hi Chandler,
Agreed - ranges aren't containers, just views of sequences. Still, that's
all many algorithms want, and it's just as valid to ask whether a sequence
is empty as it is to ask that of a container.
No contest on points 2 or 3, but I'm confused about point 4. When are
ranges not pairs of iterators? I mean in a way that would clash with the
proposal for empty() to be

Hi,
since a few months I'm experiencing repeated dovecot crashes. I mostly
see them in the logs, I haven't had any users complain, so I haven't
looked closely until now. I was originally using an older version fro
mDebian and hoped that a newer future version would already fix this,
but I just upgraded to version 1:2.2.32-2 from

deliver failing to execute sendmail (sieve)
I have apparently done something to mess up my test installation, as
deliver's attempts to send messages now fail with the following error:
deliver(user at example.com): execv() failed: No such file or directory
In these cases, I have sieve rules trying to send messages. It had been
working though, and I've tried going through all the changes I made
yesterday (related to dictionary

the solution is really quite similar, and the logic is identical:
