Hello people, I have been experiencing a weird problem with 4.8-STABLE for a long time. I was ignoring it, thinking that it was a problem with the SCSI disks or perhaps the contoller. I changed the disks from the original Intel box to a Compaq box and I still noticed the problem was there. What happened is that all of a sudden, the disk would 'fill' up with nothing! It would be great to have a HOWTO in the wiki, on how to restrict services by username in dovecot, so some users are allowed IMAP and others not allowed. As concerns restricting users by IP, I believe that is a bad idea. It's almost a useless idea, imnsho, because they can connect from another IP. It's easy to restrict services by IP using a firewall or by using inetd. -Wash

The FreeBSD 4.x (4.8-STABLE) has contributed sources for BZIP2 in the base system under /usr/src/contrib/bzip2. My problem is that I am not succeeding in building these sources for some strange reason. Some apps that I run would do well if I could get to install these success- fully.
