Bug in yesterday's CVS..
Hi Timo.
I'm doing some testing with yesterday's CVS code and believe I've found a
bug.
In SquirrelMail, I get 5 messages in INBOX (doesn't matter how). I click
"Toggle All" then "Delete". All 5 messages move to Trash.
The Trash folder gets a link "expunge". I click that and get the
following error:
ERROR : Bad or malformed request.

Maildir + NFS + multiple machines = spectacular failure
I'm running beta7 on two machines, with maildir on NFS. I have lockd
running on all machines. I've found that Dovecot is highly unstable with
NFS when accessing a mailbox on more than one machine at the same time.
Both dovecot machines have:
mmap_disable = yes
lock_method = fcntl
NFS is version 3, exported from a third linux machine. All machines are
running 2.6.9 kernel.
Any ideas

Losing messages
Hi,
I have been running dovecot cvs happily for.. well.. very, very long
now. Don't remember when I switched from 0.99, but it was back in the
test-days, long before the alpha's. Anyway, it seems to have been
working very well all the time. But recently three of my clients have
claimed to have lost mail when moving from Thunderbird. I even
experienced it myself once. I'm using

I'm facing a problem with dovecot/deliver and SSL in 2.0.4 which did not

All index file bugs fixed(?)
I fixed the nightly snapshot building. Now it's again being built every
night (if there have been any changes). Please test it before I'll make
rc18 release. http://dovecot.org/nightly/dovecot-latest.tar.gz
I've also been stress testing a lot with
http://dovecot.org/tools/imaptest.c. Last night I ran it for 9 hours
with mmap_disable=yes and it picked up only one race condition, which

1.0alpha1: another imap core, no assert
Timo,
Output of gdb session on the core file attached. This
one only produced the following syslog:
IMAP(user): UIDs broken with partial sync in mbox file /var/mail/r/user
with no assert. Setup: Solaris 9, gcc 4.0.1 for dovecot build.

. (dot) in maildir folder names
Hi.
Uhm... yeah as the topic implies I want to have . (dots) in my folder
names...
Unfortunately dovecot's maildirmake hasn't a -f switch as the one from
courier/maildrop, but that one in turn is buggy[0] and doesn't encode
any characters at all.
In principle, maildir++ should allow[1] having (encoded) dots in folder
names,... but I don't quite understand how the encoding

Sieve fileinto copies messages instead of moving them
Hi,
we're running Doveocot 2.3.4.1 with Pigeonhole, from repo.webflow.org.
As far as I understand the RFC for 'fileinto', the following Sieve
script should move a message either into the folder "SPAM" or "MaybeSPAM":
require ["fileinto"];
# rule:[SPAM]
if header :contains "subject" "SPAMSPAM"
{
fileinto "SPAM";
}

beta8: cores on corrupted index file
Timo,
I saw a couple of these cores over the weekend. The syslog says:
May 21 19:04:48 emerald dovecot: [ID 107833 mail.error] IMAP(user): Corrupted index cache file /home/students/s/user/.imap/sent-mail-apr-2004/dovecot.index.cache: indexid changed
With a resulting core file from imap at this time. I also discovered
a remaining lock file on the person's imap file:

Evaluating a port to RTEMS (embedded OS with single address space and no processes)
Hello,
I am searching a SSH server for remote administration of an embedded
application running on RTEMS (https://www.rtems.org). This environment
has neither virtual memory nor user and kernel space. So this is like an
application running in kernel mode only.
Would it be possible to run (a very basic version of) OpenSSH in such an
environment using e.g. threads instead of forking new

1.0.rc23 tomorrow
http://dovecot.org/nightly/dovecot-latest.tar.gz
Would be nice to get some testing before the actual release.
I've now finally gone through all the "TODO" mails in this list and my
INBOX and fixed pretty much every problem I know of. There are still
some mbox bugs, but I can't really get them fixed unless someone figures
out how to reproduce them

Debugging test72
When attempting to save a message from the INBOX to a folder in a
collection (like, .projects.dovecot), I get behavior like this (in
GDB). Any clue what might be going wrong?
Here's where a SIGABRT happens:

[parallel] fixes load balancing of parLapplyLB

Thanks for your commitment to fix this issue and also to add the chunk size as an argument. If you want our input, let us know ;)
