imap process crashing with "file mail-cache-fields.c: line 26: unreached"
Hoping someone's seen this and/or can help...heh. I'm running the at
rpm of dovecot, version dovecot-1.0-0_27.rc10.el4.at. I'm running it on
RHEL4, up to date. We're using Maildir (we're upgraded from a
Courier-IMAP installation) and things are working...but...we have a few
users with very large mailboxes (not their inboxes) where they archive
stuff (200k+ messages). When

CRASH: mail-cache-fields.c crash - new info, hacked 'solution'
I'm baaaaack. :-)
I've managed to implement a suggestion from Hans Morten Kind from this
list that seems to have stopped the crashing. However, my hack -
commenting out a call to i_unreached() - makes me queasy because I have
no idea of the ramifications of it (I don't habitually code, myself).
So I wanted to lay it out for y'all in case this is a problem that you

Updates not catching up ?
Hi,
I have downloaded and installed centos 4.1 from DVD and I a little
confused with the update procedure.
The faq from the centos.org site mentions something like 72 hrs (or
less) from one security update to goes from the sources.rpm from rh to
centos.
I was cheking rh's site
(https://rhn.redhat.com/errata/rhel4as-errata.html) and saw one update

List of updates in Update 3 ?
While update 3 was released last week, it looks
like there are 40 or so packages updated. I dunno
about squid, it is listed on
http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/rhel4as-errata.html
but the changelog is from October 2005 (unless it is an rhel only
bug).

Footprint - kickstart management tool
Hi,
I'm planning to create a new tool to simplify creation and management of
kickstart-files (as well as automate some of the tasks that come with
automated installation).
If you know of another mailinglist that fits this subject, or you know of
similar projects (because I can imagine there are countless
implementations inside companies) please let me know. I'm just in the
design

dovecot-auth zombie procs
Hi, every now and then it seems as if dovecot-auth zombie's out. When this
happens nobody can log in. If I kill all the dovecot-auth processes and
then restart dovecot everything seems to work again. I'm authenticating
against an openldap server on a debian sarge box so I wonder if this has
anything to do with it. All my clients are using Outlook. Any help would
be greatly appreciated.

Anyone using to_xml and procs...
I''m looking for comments on http://dev.rubyonrails.org/ticket/10162
In my opinion, the current behaviour is a bug, and should be fixed.
If you have a use case where passing procs to the child associations
is actually useful, chime in.

Weird Okular/KDE error - thousand procs spawned
Hello all:
I'm trying to troubleshoot a strange and repeatable error and not sure
where to log the bug report.
I subscribe to Linux Journal and download their PDF. The DLJ230.pdf
opens in the Okular PDF reader from Konqueror. If I scroll down to
the ad for some colo site (www.ovh.com) and click the right side of
the page, I immediately start getting hundreds of alerts on the
desktop.

suspected bug in dovecot-ldap setup?
Hi everyone,
[first post: long and boring. beware!]
I've been working on a virtual multidomain MX server with pop3 access.
Accounting for users/domains is done via OpenLDAP with the Jamm[1] schema and
dovecot is 1.0rc10 (dovecot-1.0-0_27.rc10.el4.at fetched as RPM from
atrpms.net for CentOS 4.4).
I intended to have authenticated binds but there was a problem with the

Mutable models based on dbfunctions or stored procs?
Is there any way that a model can be based on a stored procedure or
function that so that it can return a set of data based on a parameter
provided in either the controller, or s a variable in the model? That
way you could:
1) Set the variable
2) Call find_all
3) Get a mutable set of results that takes better advantage of some
of the advanced database features available?

What is the working directory for fastcgi procs w/Apache 2?
When running Apache and FastCGI with Rails, what determines the current
working directory?
Is there an easy way to discover which directory this is at runtime?

[LLVMdev] JIT and anonymous procs
The Kaleidoscope tutorial has us "interpreting" top-level expressions by
generating a one-shot anonymous procedure and executing that. Once the
expressions have been executed, these procedures will never be called
again.
How can the associated storage for this anonymous procedure be
reclaimed?

asterisk and defunct perl procs
Trying to figure out why I'm having all of my test (and demo) perl script in a defunct status. Each run creates a problem:

Number of procs, redux
No answers to this? Sorry if it''s a stupid question, but I was hoping
it would be dead easy for someone here to answer. I''ve edited in case
it wasn''t clear enough.
We upgraded to 2.6.3 and we''ve suddenly noticed two and sometimes
three puppet processes frequently running on the clients. Is this
normal? Is it new to this version or are we
just noticing it for
