Ices0 and ShoutCast (and KiSS)
I have successfully set up a system with Ices0.4 and IceCast2.20 (and
Tunez). It plays well using mpg123 or WinAmp.
But I would like to use also my KiSS DVD player for the stream, and I have
not been able to do so - It appearently needs 110% SHOUTcast
compatibility.
So I tried the IceCast2.3.1 - but it still didn't like the KiSS (or the
other way around). In stead, I have added a SHOUTcast

namespaces...
Hi,
I am new to dovecot and I am a bit confused with how namespaces/prefixes/separators are handled by the clients and dovecot...
I tried to understand the desciption from the conf file but without success.
With each conf I create the following path /f1/f2 on the client (thunderbird) and get the following on the dovecot server:
PREFIX= and separator=/ => .INBOX.f1.f2 + .INBOXTrash

imap-postlogin and doveadm
We are configuring location= running a bash-script during imap-postlogin
setting $MAIL in $USERDB_KEYS, as described in wiki/PostLoginScripting.txt
This works fine.
However, running a command like 'dovadm index [-u user] folder'
only works for users with settings that match the default in mail_location=
Would it be possible to make the location available for doveadm
in a similar way,

auth-worker goes wild
dovecot-2.2.13 running on Solaris-10, app 5000 concurrent connections,
and a pretty standard config where passdb is set up with driver = pam.
We have had some situations where an auth-worker gets into a loop, the load on
the server rises and the auth-master seems blocked untill finally no new imap nor
pop session are accepted. A 'doveadm reload' restores normal operations.

Sizing login_process_size and login_processes_count?
Any suggestions on sizing login_process_size and login_processes_count for a
server expected to be doing 100 to 200 simultaneous connections?
Is there a way to separate login_processes_count between imap and pop? I
would like to have at least 50 imap processes ready, but we rarely have any
more than 5 to 10 pop connections. Would be a shame to have 40+ pop
login processes doing nothing most

Statistics scripts
I wrote two scripts, which you can use with the stats plugin enabled to get a better "doveadm stats top" than it currently is:

gssapi considered as PLAIN?
Hello,
as soon as I set "disable_plaintext_auth = yes", AUTH=GSSAPI vanishes
from capabilities.

Why?
I'm wondering especially because at

imap process crashing with "file mail-cache-fields.c: line 26: unreached"
Hoping someone's seen this and/or can help...heh. I'm running the at
rpm of dovecot, version dovecot-1.0-0_27.rc10.el4.at. I'm running it on
RHEL4, up to date. We're using Maildir (we're upgraded from a
Courier-IMAP installation) and things are working...but...we have a few
users with very large mailboxes (not their inboxes) where they archive
stuff (200k+ messages). When

Ices0 and ShoutCast (and KiSS)
THAT was it!
Both ones work, so I think I'll stick to the last one.
Now the KiSS will connect to the IceCast2, and I have enabled the metadata
again without problem.
Thank you very much!

2.2.15 Panic in mbox_sync_read_next_mail()
It might not be a fault in dovecot, as the user is accessing the folder locally
with alpine while also running imap-sessions. However it would have been nice
with a more graceful action than panic?
The panic is preceeded by
Error: Next message unexpectedly corrupted in mbox file PATH
Panic: file mbox-sync.c: line 152 (mbox_sync_read_next_mail): assertion failed:

Patch proposition to implement a new workaround: tb-lsub-flags
Hi again Timo,
As agreed earlier tonight, you'll find as attachments 4 diffs (diff -u)
implementing the new workaround "tb-lsub-flags".
The 4 impacted files are:
./src/imap/imap-settings.h
./src/imap/imap-settings.c
./src/imap/cmd-list.c
./src/config/all-settings.c
Here is the proposed description for the dovecot.conf file:

rc18 dies with Query: LSUB "" "*" failed on Squirrelmail
Just upgraded, and then had to downgrade straight away.
Couldn't get our Squirrelmail page up. Logged in fine etc. but got:
Query: LSUB "" "*" failed, refer to server logs etc.
Nothing in logs that shows error with mail_debug=yes
What should I be looking for?
Gavin.

Problem in LSUB?
Hi guys,
I'm not 100% sure about the dovecot version in the server because I
don't have access to it, just an account, but I think it's 1.1-rc4
I'm an email client developer and I have a doubt about the behaviour of
LSUB that I think it's buggy. See this chat with the server

bug in LSUB command
RFC 2060 section 7.2.2 and 7.2.3 says the "The LIST response occurs as a
result of a LIST command." and "The LSUB response occurs as a result of
an LSUB command."
Dovecot presently returns the LIST response for the LSUB command.

LSUB matches prefix bug?
I think I've found a minor bug in the LSUB command:
. LSUB "" "*"
gives
...
* LIST (\Noselect) "/" "#maildir"
^^^^
* LSUB () "/" "#maildir/test4"
where I have a namespace with prefix "#maildir/".
Here's a patch to make it not list the namespace prefix in an LSUB
command (or should it list it as 'LSUB

Query: LSUB "" "*" still on rc19
Hi all,
We've downgraded to rc17 for the past week or so, as when we upgraded to
rc19, this error did go, but came back again.
ERROR: Could not complete request.
Query: LSUB "" "*"
Reason Given: Internal error occurred. Refer to server log for more
information.
Looks like it never helped us in rc19. Back on rc17 just now, which we
still have to restart a few times a day,
