Mistake in Wiki
http://wiki.dovecot.org/LDA reads:
"Exim
System-users
Replace/rewrite the default local_delivery router:"
I believe it should refer to a the default local_deliver transport,
and not router.
The page is immutable so can't edit it.

New mail not appearing consistently in Outlook 2003
Hi all,
I have continuously experienced a new mail not appearing problem in Outlook
2003 on Windows XP. Using Dovecot 0.99.14 on Debian Sarge and now in 1.0rc26
and rc27.
The problem exhibits itself as:
Some new mail is randomly(?) not shown in my mailbox. More new mail does
appear, so it's difficult to know when a message has been missed. If I
restart Outlook the missed new messages will

bug in 1.0RC2?
Hello,
I have a small problem with dovecot 1.0RC2. This didn't happen with
former versions. There are imap processes that are left open a long
while after the client disconnected. I am running dovecot on OpenBSD
3.8. Below is the output of a process list. As you can see, there are
many imap processes for the same login running.

help a journalist: What do you wish the CIO understood about fighting spam?
Hi, folks. I'm senior online editor at CIO.com, and I'm working on an
article for which I'd very much like your help.
There's often a lack of communication between techies and top company
management. Maybe they don't want to hear about problems; perhaps you
give them technical details that are far more granular than they want
to know. But dealing with spam is a topic

R-beta: Latin-1 characters in R and X
Hi!
I have tried to print text with Latin-1 characters (????) from R to
postscript and X11 window but when I'm using the interactive R-shell, I
can't get them printed even from keyboard. Is there some configuration
flags to use 7-bit or 8-bit character sets?
TIA

speexenc/speexdec doubles file size
this is not really a development question, but i didn't find another
mailing list to ask it.
any idea why size of wav file doubles when it is encoded to speex and
back to wav:
$ ls -ls testi.wav
40 -rw-r--r-- 1 foo foo 40674 May 4 14:38 testi.wav
$ speexenc --denoise --agc --quality 10 testi.wav testi.spx
Encoding 8000 Hz audio using narrowband mode (mono)
$ ls -ls testi.spx

R as shell script
Hi,
I am considering if I should invest in learning R. Based on the
language definition and introductory documents, it seems nice. But now
I am faced with a problem: I want to be able to run R programs easily
from the unix shell, and write scripts that can automatically select R
as the interpreter:
#!/usr/bin/R
cat("Hello world.\n")
This of course doesn't work, because /usr/bin/R
