ldapsam with user level security
Hi, Everything I can find about using the ldapsam backend seems to imply that samba will be used as a domain controller. Is it possible to use ldapsam as the backend and have just a user level security workgroup? Thanks. Craig

Sync unix and samba passwords
Hi, We have an Exchange server (server 2003) that is a domain controller and a few Samba file servers that are not part of the Windows domain. The Samba servers use their own LDAP directory ( ldapsam backend with pam_ldap ) that is synchronized to one openldap directory server but is not synchronized to the Windows domain AD. The workstations are all local accounts and not members of any domain

Strange Mysql connect problem
Hi, I compiled Dovecot and Mysql on two different servers each with the same options. Dovecot connects successfully on Server B. Fwd: Net groupmap list puzzler
Hi, I think at first you have to do a net groupmap add all the well known Groups. System Operators (S-1-5-32-549) -> -1 Replicators (S-1-5-32-552) -> -1 Guests (S-1-5-32-546) -> -1 Domain Users (S-1-5-21-3732367786-856876144-3282938955-513) -> -1 Domain Admins (S-1-5-21-3732367786-856876144-3282938955-512) -> -1 Power Users (S-1-5-32-547) -> -1 Domain Guests

Multiple instances and/or separate certificates per email address
Hi, We have a mail server with multiple instances of Postfix each listening on a different IP address to create a set of virtual mail servers. There are various reasons why separate instances of Postfix seems to work best to achieve this goal, but I wont divert into that discussion here. I would like so match this with Dovecot. The listening side isn't a problem as Dovecot can listen on

POP +OK CR LF Question
HI. I just finished installing a new mail server running CentOS Ver 4. and I am running sendmail with devecot 0.99.11. Everything is working fine except for a customer of mine is using a tool that does pop requests. And his tool is failing waiting on a CR LF in the +OK. I did a small hex dump of my old pop and the dovecot pop and he is right. Docevot POP does not end its +OK with a CR LF. I

Does the wiki actually send out emails to KaranbirSingh, RalphAngenendt, RussHerrold, TimVerhoeven, AkemiYagi, NedSlider, AlanBartlett, MarcusMoeller, TimothyLee, LaurentWandrebeck, TimoSchoeler, GaoHu, and AlainRegueraDelgado with every edit? It makes me a little nervous updating the T43 page or my homepage. I don't want to spam anyone. Cheers, Cody Jackson

1.0.rc8 released
I've still over 200 mails unread in the mailing list, and important things left in TODO. This release is an improvement over rc7 anyway, hopefully I'll have time to fix the rest soon. http://dovecot.org/releases/dovecot-1.0.rc8.tar.gz http://dovecot.org/releases/dovecot-1.0.rc8.tar.gz.sig * GSSAPI: Changed POP3 service name to "pop", which is what the standard says *

Limiting number of IMAP connections per user
Hi, Is there a way of limiting the number of IMAP connections (i.e. processes) per user? Despite asking users to set their email client settings to limit themselves to 2 connections, some still have this set to 10 or more. [PATCH] libxl_qmp: Handle unexpected end-of-socket
When read() return 0, the current code just tries again. But this leads to an infinite loop if QEMU died too soon. Also, retry select if a signal was caught.
