Openssh installation only works for user root
Hi, I have recently compiled a copy of OpenSSH for use on Reliant Unix ( Sinix ) version 5.45. My installation works okay for user root. When I try to log on as another user I get prompted for the user password. When I type this in OpenSSH throws me out each time. I have been able to see any errors. My version is OpenSSH_3.8p1, SSH protocols 1.5/2.0, OpenSSL 0.9.7d 17 Mar 2004. I am using Putty

Bazel support
Hi all, trust all is well! I was wondering if LLVM would have a Bazel integrated build in the future? I can imagine the benefits this could bring, especially with regards to remote builds and caching. I'm thinking of dumping the LLVM source-tree into my code-base and experiment with building LLVM via Bazel. Will pull requests be accepted for this? I won't mind contributing my changes

POP3 notice if password expired
Hi, We just migrated our IMAP service to Dovecot and it performs very well. We also want to migrate our POP3 service (qpopper) to Dovecot. The problem is that Dovecot and Qpopper differently act on expired passwords: Qpopper: -ERR "user": password expired. Dovecot: -ERR Authentication failed. Are there any way to tell Dovecot to report about expired passwords? We have about 30000

Migration from pop3 to imapd
Dear list, I am planing to set up dovecot-imapd on my production-mail server which currently only runs pop3 via qpopper on debian-sarge. It would be best, if I could only use imapd and use the existing pop3- server (qpopper) as it is. Is this possible? Can the user both use pop3 (qpopper) and imapd (dovecot) in parallel then? Where does dovecot-imapd store its mails? Does it store its mail in

Duplicates when switching from Qpopper to Dovecot pop3
Hi All, Our test users re-download the mail they've left on the server when they switch from Qpopper to Dovecot. Qpopper includes the X-UIDL header - X-UIDL: X8V"!E)<"!58?"!"9C"! - on read messages. Any suggestions are appreciated. I've included my dovecot configuration. Thank you, Tristan --- Tristan Tristan Goguen CEO, ILAP? T: 416-250-5600 ext. 205 F:

qpopper UIDLs and migrating to dovecot/maildir
hi all, I am hoping to convert a 350K user qpopper installation using mbox to dovecot and maildir (pop3 only). many of the users "leave mail on server", and qpopper's UIDL format isn't (yet) supported by dovecot. since the UIDLs have been written by qpoppper to the existing mbox files (and will be preserved when the mboxes are converted to maildir) it would be possible to do

Wishlist item, POP3 welcome message
Hello, With qpopper you get something like this after a successful login: --- +OK test has 6 visible messages (0 hidden) in 11822 octets. --- This gives a clueful user or support people a quick status about the size of this mailbox, very helpful in full quota scenarios. Would be nice if the next dovecot would have such a feature as well. I doubt the same is (easily) applicable for IMAP (though

pop3 usernames
Hello, I would like to allow users to login as user at domain.tld instead of providing their login name; I'm coming from the sendmail/qpopper land and am trying to migrate to postfix/maildir/dovecot one step at a time and I've been able to find a way to do most of what I want except for the above requirement. Do I have to use a SQL server or is there any way to easilly map an email

Joe, Roger has a good point - the SHUTDOWNCMD should work as long as the master system

Best way to migrate from Qpopper to Dovecot
Hi List, what do you think is the best way to migrate (to a new maschine) round about 30000 mboxes (Qpopper) with an amount of 43Gigs data, to maildir format (Dovecot). I think there are two ways: 1. - stop services (smtp and pop3) on the old maschine - copy the mboxes to the new maschine - run a conversion script (for excample: "Perfect_maildir" http://perfectmaildir.home-dn.net/)

Dovecot and POP3
Hi all, I run Dovecot 1.2.9, for both IMAP and POP3 access. I was wondering if there is a way to force messages be deleted from server when the user uses POP3, even if she has selected a 'Leave messages on server' option. I was able to do it in the past using Qpopper (--enable-auto-delete option). Thanks

migrating from maildir to mdbox, preserving pop3 UIDL
Hi, I'm trying to migrate from maildir to mdbox while preserving the pop3 UIDL (and the imap UID). The problem is, for maildir we use (for compatiblity with qpopper): pop3_uidl_format = %f Problem is, as soon as I convert that to mdbox, then whenever a client issues the UIDL command via a POP connection, the connection is closed and this error is displayed in the log: Error: UIDL: File

Bazel support
Hi Wynand, My big concern is related to what Mehdi mentioned as #4. Bazel doesn't really handle the configuration-management that CMake does, so adding Bazel support would really mean supporting an extra build system with no path for it to replace CMake. We're kinda already in that situation with gn, but gn is a developer productivity tool and we don't consider changes that break gn

Dovecot-2.1.14 - pop3 processes always hangs forever - another follow-up
Hello, With the same basic configs as in my previous messages, I tried with the maildir format instead of the mbox format. That is, in both cases ("virtual" uids/gids vs a single "real" uid/gid), doveconf -n shows: mail_location = maildir:~/maildir instead of: mail_location = mbox:~/mboxes:INBOX=~/mboxes/inbox Here too, with "virtual" uids/gids, connections thru

Dovecot-2.1.14 - pop3 processes always hangs forever
Hello, I'm currently experimenting with the 2.1.x series and am facing a behavior I can't explain; I must be doing something wrong and probably miss the obvious... ;-) This is a very basic build on Mac OS X 10.8.2: ./configure --prefix=/_COD/dovecot-2.1.14 --sysconfdir=/_ETC --localstatedir=/_VAR --with-sqlite --with-ldap=yes (Yes, I know, a strange layout, yet very convenient for

pop3 authentication problems: Still got 'em...
Fellow users, This is just a heads-up to let the list know that I'm still unable to get ANY sort of pop3 or pop3s authentication to work with Dovecot. Just as a sanity check, I set up an entirely separate system, running FreeBSD 6.1 production, postfix 2.3, and Dovecot 1.0rc2, as a testbed. I got the exact same problem that I had with the NetBSD 3.0 production server, specifically that

I am running Dovecot 2.0.14 I have used the mb2md.pl script : http://dovecot.org/tools/mb2md.pl from this page
