Light "bug" in authtest, sockets path
Hi to all! I?ve changed position to client auth socket to enable postfix authentication. The socket is now created in /var/spool/postfix/private/auth. authtest do not catch up the change. Reading source I?ve seen that path to auth sockets is written explicitly in function authtest_passdb in util/authtest.c to: if (auth_socket_path == NULL) auth_socket_path =

Problem compiling dovecot 1.2.8 on Solaris 10?
I've got an issue using Sun's compilers on Solaris 10 - it appears that dovecot is trying to use the getopt function, that's part of GNU's glibc, and, therefore, not present when using Sun's compilers. Any ideas on how to resolve? cc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I../.. -I../../src/lib -I../../src/lib-auth -I../../src/lib-mail -I../../src/lib-imap -I../../src/lib-index

Binary locations
Where do you think the following binaries should be installed to? The possible locations are: - bin/ - sbin/ - libexec/dovecot/ (or lib/dovecot/ in most Linux distros) So the binaries are: 1) These probably belong to bin/ or sbin/ or both: - authtest - dovecotpw - doveadm 2) Binaries that you might want to call from mail_executable setting: - rawlog - gdbhelper 3) Index file dumping

saslauthd
Hello, I'm having trouble to get saslauthd running on a centos-5.3. I can't autheticate via testsaslauthd. Here's what I do using a fresh /etc/sasldb2: 1) start saslauthd in debug mode: saslauthd -d -a shadow -O /usr/lib64/sasl2/smtpd.conf -r -l 2) saslpasswd2 -c -a mail -u mail testuser 3) testsaslauthd -u testomat -p <mypassword> -s smtp -r mail shell output of

Issues with authentication failure delays
There are two rather clear issues with the state of authentication failure delays. First, the delay length isn't what was (presumably) intended. Second, there is a new way of doing failure delays in Dovecot 2 which was added *in addition to* the old method, rather than replacing it. As a result delays may not be the expected length and settings don't have the expected effect. First, the

libvirt with sasl shadow backend
Hi list, i have a problem with virt-manager authentication over tcp. I tried it with virt-manager over non-TLS "TCP (SASL/Kerberos)" auth. and the sasl mechanism "shadow". The user (tested with unprivileged user and root) is allready in the group libvirt(d) and the process is running as root. The result on host: Jan 18 21:05:31 host libvirtd: 21:05:31.620: error :

CentOS-5.3 saslauth configuration issue
I am trying to get cyrus-imapd and saslauthd running together so that I can get squirrelmail to work. I have accomplished this on several other servers and have relatively complete documentation on how to do this. What I am running into in this case has me baffled. If I start saslauthd as a service: # service saslauthd start And I try testsaslauthd -u cyrus -p test Then I see this: 0: NO

Postfix + saslauthd SASL With Kerberos (FreeIPA) unable to send mail
The dovecot instance set up with auth_realms and auth_default_realm variables and it is working well. In saslauthd configurations setting same variables giving configuration parsing error (I think it is not right way to configure kerberos realm in saslauthd). However testsaslauthd working without any problems even if I don't specify realm parameter from command line. On 03/10/17 06:17,

Authentication via SASL and LDAP?
Hello, I've recently configured a new virtual machine host running Ubuntu 12.04 server with libvirt and KVM. I am configuring WebVirtMgr ( https://github.com/retspen/webvirtmgr/ ) for users to manage machines via a web interface. This requires access to the host using qemu+tcp, which I have configured as follows: /etc/default/libvirt-bin: start_libvirtd="yes"
