pop3-throttle
Hello I am having a hard time with users using POP while leaving mailboxes of several gigabyte cumulated. This causes a lot of disk I/O and kills performancs for everyone. I try to encourage people migrating to IMAP, but that migration will take some time, and therefore I am looking for alterantive ways to workaround the problem. I found pop3-throttle-plugin.c, which seems a smart way to solve

cyrus2dovecot script converts mailboxes to bigger sizes
Hello, list. I'm asking question not directly connected with dovecot. I'm planning a migration from cyrus-imapd to dovecot and i'm using cyrus2dovecot script (by Freie Universit?t Berlin) to convert mailboxes of users, but i'm wondering why size of mailbox in Maildir++ is so much bigger than mailbox in cyrus format after conversion: linux-a9qw:~/ # du -sh /mnt/imap/z/user/zinovik

FW: shared/public mailbox application
No answer. Trying again. Surely someone with experience with public mailboxes can offer some insight on whether the application below should be a public or shared namespace ... shared/public mailbox application
Thanks Tobias. Thanks for the detailed reply. I think I see what you?re doing. But I?m unclear on something (since I?m a nube): Can anyone send mail to NAME at domain.com <mailto:NAME at domain.com> and have it appear in the public mailbox? If not, would it be enough to create a userdb entry which defines a pseudo-user NAME, including its home directory, such that imcoming

Licence text questions
I'm running a CentOS 6.5 chroot to build Pale Moon (a Firefox fork) for older machines running distros like Puppy linux. Before anyone asks... * Yes, even though the older machines are using "ancient" glibc, etc, they do have security patches back-ported, e.g. http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=90461 "Lucid Puppy Revitalized as 5.2.8.7 - December,

Inconsistent Mailbox with Eudora as POP3 client
Hello everyone, one of our customers using QUALCOMM Windows Eudora Version 7.1.0.9 as POP3 client with Dovecot 1.0.0 under Linux using Maildirs reports that on various accounts they get occasional "inconsistent mailbox" errors at quit. The same Docevot binary in the same environment on other servers works fine for several other customers and ourselves. We use Postfix 2.2 with

Replication to wrong mailbox
No one any idea? Replication into wrong mailboxes caused by an unavailable proxy dict backend is a serious privacy and/or security problem! Mailbox Hashing
First off, the website documentation is really good for Dovecot but while reading I was not able to find anything pertaining to inbox hashing for Maildirs. I saw plenty about hashing the directories that the user mailboxes live in but nothing about specifically hashing an individual user's inbox directory itself. Is there any method for hashing the inbox automatically after say 5,000

shared/public mailbox application
Basically we alias NAME at domain.com to doveadm at domain.com. doveadm@ has a sieve-Script which files into the public folder. You could also configure a postfix transport which does the job. Its necessary to overlook the whole process chain to properly configure everything. And a lot of try out :) On 29 Nov 2016, at 6:34, Michael Fox wrote: > Thanks Tobias. Thanks for the detailed reply.

pop3 mailbox mirroring issues using dsync
Hello, I have setup v2.2.12 to mirror mailboxes between our main mail server (vmail.example.com) and a failover server (vmail1.example.com). The problem I have is the behavior of mailboxes used on the main server (*vmail*) over POP3. I have setup an IMAP account on the failover server (*vmail1*) on such a mailbox: the mailbox is used on vmail using POP3 and the same is monitored on vmail1

Gigabyte motherboards and Syslinux
I read the mailing list archive about Gigabyte motherboards not working with USB booting ("[syslinux] Gigabyte recent bios & syslinux extlinux trow USB-IDE bridges or pendrives", 16 Aug 2006). I have a Gigabyte GA-MA790GP-DS4H motherboard that I tried to boot in USB-HDD mode with a PNY boot pen. I installed System Rescue CD on it. It would appear that Gigabyte still doesn't

Syslinux Aarch64 porting
Hi Steve, I don't know if syslinux is x86-only by design, or just by circumstance. Simply put, I like syslinux because it's simple and it works. I know that once I get it working, I can just edit a config file and put kernels/initrds in the right place. Grub2 is trash[1], and UEFI is awkward and uncomfortable to actually use - in that I have to currently have my kernel and initrd on

is "Gb" gigabyte or gigabit?
I sometimes get errors of this form: Error: cannot allocate vector of size 13.8 Gb I've also seen "Gb" used in R documents. Is "Gb" being used to refer to gigabyte? We usually refer to bytes and gigabytes when discussing memory usage, but the lowercase "b" more often refers to bits. According to Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gigabyte

shared/public mailbox application
I'm new to Dovecot and I need help configuring a shared or public mailbox - I'm not sure which is appropriate. I've read the wiki and Peer's book and neither appears to cover what I'd like to do. So I could use some specific help on how to configure a solution for the following: I'd like to create two real mailboxes, let's call them AAA and BBB. Let's call

Poprelayd released for Dovecot
Hello all. I just wanted to tell you that poprelayd is now compatible with Dovecot. I have just created a parser for the Dovecot server. This might be interesting either for you or your future customers. Maybe you will want to make some advertisement for it ? I remind that poprelayd is a service that allows a POP user to use the SMTP server of the same machine to send e-mails (making relays)
