I am moving a courier installation over to Dovecot and I am wondering if there is a way to set Dovecot to automatically move purged items to trash (under IMAP). Additionally, is there a way to automatically delete old items from a Trash folder? -David

Trash plugin won't delete messages from your folders if the deletion would not give enough space to start with, and in your case removing the attachment would have still left the user over quota, so trash plugin did not take action. Hello we are doing regular backups of the mdbox mail folders using dsync -u username backup mdbox:/somedir/BACKUPS/username (still with version 2.1.10, but 2.2.5 is in testing phase) We do observe that the directory size in the BACKUPS directory is growing with respect to the original mail folders. Hi, I've straced a few dovecot processes after hitting purge on a large Trash folder (35,000 messages). It looks like it is going through each message, one by one, and removing (unlinking) each one.
