ldap replication sleep seems not working
When configuring samba PDC to use slave ldap, it seems parameter ldap replication sleep did not work, setting any value did not make any different. I have samba PDC and slave/master ldap connected over fast-ethernet switch, ldap replication take less than 2 seconds, however when adding (XP) machine to domain it gives error " The username could not be found". Users can Read but not Write / Delete Files
Hi All, Hi All, Here is a situation where everyone can read to, but not write to or delete, the shares on our Samba server: We moved the file server a few weeks ago - split off some files to a new Windows file server - and users could read but not write files to the old Samba server after it was renamed (SAN to OLDSAN). It turned out SELinux was running, which I disabled, rebooted, and all

Force user permission in specific folders
Hi, It's not that often that I'm messing around with Samba but I have a dilemma that I need some help with. I have a share called "common", users can create folders and files just fine but I'm wondering if it's possible to force folders/files to be created with certain user/group owner in just that specific folder. I not I can force so that everything is created with a

Dovecot 1.0beta7: STARTTLS/SSL not wanting to start
Greetings - I have been looking at Dovecot with a view to migrating us to it from the Washington IMAP server on our Sun systems. To start our testing we first of all installed the pre-built version of Dovecot from the Blastwave (www.blastwave.org) community supported packaged software site. This was Dovecot 0.99.10.4 and we successfully got it working in our test environment: at first just

Share stuff that located on another server
Hi, I have a server with www-content. I don't want Samba installed on this host as I have another server already acting as Samba host, sharing different things. My question is, what is the best way for the Samba-server to share the www-content that's on the other server? If I mount the www-content using NFS on the Samba-server there will be permission problems, unless there's a way

Outlook problem
Hi, I have some problems that every time I start Outlook and retrieve my e-mails and then later tries to do it on my iPhone for example, I get some sort of problem that I can't get the mails. I searched around on the wiki and found the "outlook-no-nuls" and "outlook-idle" options, but where am I suppose to add them? I only have "pop3_uidl_format = %08Xu%08Xv"

[FORGED] src/modules/X11/devX11.c, can we remove "#if BUG" yet
I don't recall exactly what I did 18 years ago eiher and I likely don't have the time to dig into the archives and reconstruct. I can imagine that the issue had to do with the protocol around creating and mapping windows. Presumably the segfault comes from looking for events on a window that hasn't been created yet, or has already been destroyed, leading to a NULL reference somewhere.

SSL failures on 1.0B3
I have setup Dovecot 1.0B3, and IMAP works fine, but I cannot get IMAPS to work. I've generated the keys with the mkcert script and Thunderbird can see and accept the certificate but tosses an error just after that. In my log, I'm getting: dovecot: Apr 03 19:07:43 Warning: imap-login: SSL_accept() failed: error:140D308A:SSL routines:TLS1_SETUP_KEY_BLOCK:cipher or hash

Thanks Professor Dalgard. If you have a different way to fix the bug then I'd be happy to test it. Or whatever. I understand that maybe some data was being referenced before it had been initialized. I could also support moving the R_ProcessEvents call in another place, but it seems one would also like to generate some kind of warning message, at the location of the bad reference, rather than

How does wine "detect" graphicscard-hardware
Hi, To clarify, when I run World of Warcraft and go into Options to change the graphics settings I get this message on some options: "Unsupported for graphics related reasons". So I was wondering if wine "detects" the graphics hardware and make some kind of registry entry with that information of some sort? Or how does that work? Is it possible to change that information so

Samba and Win 2003 AD Question
High all, First of all, thanks in advance for any response to this message. Groups like this are a lifesaver. I just took over an admin position for a small software company that runs a Windows 2000 domain, in native mode, with a Samba 3 file server, as a Domain Member, connecting to a password server which is the Windows 2000 Primary Domain Controller. The domain controller runs a

troubles with kzft
I need to compute the Fourier transformation of the autocovariance function of a panel composed by 196 time series. With autocovarance function i mean a matrix Gamma(u) which contains the covariance of all the variables at time (t) with all the variables evaluated at time (t-u). It can be represented by a tri-dimensional matrix whose dimensions are (196,196,K), where K is the maximum lag

Hi Peter Yes, that looks roughly right to me. I would be in favour of your option (b), partly because it is probably easiest and partly because that retains the basic graphics device startup logic pattern that is replicated across all(?) graphics devices. wcfxs causing constant CPU spikes
Hi All, I have a problem (at least I think it's a problem) where the wcfxs module causes constant CPU usage spikes. The card being used is a Digium Wildcard TDM400P with 3 FXO modules and 1 FXS (TDM31B). Monitoring my otherwise idle asterisk box (with top) I see once every 3-5 seconds hi (hardware interrupt) spike to 30%-40% and then drop back to 0 again. This is the case wtih both asterisk
