Supporting local and virtual LDAP users, with seperate mail_env
Is it possible to have local users with mail in
maildir:%h/.maildir
and virutal users with mail in
maildir:/home/exim/%u/.maildir
I seem to have authentication working for both local users and LDAP users.
But I'm getting this error trying to access a virtual users mail.

forward flag metadata
In testing the migration from courier-imap to dovecot I've discovered
that the forward flag on messages isn't kept track of in a standard way.
courier-imap seems to keep track of forwarded messages in courierimapkeywords/:list
dovecot seems to add an 'a' flag to the filename.
Unfortunately this 'a' flag information doesn't seem to be given out by dovecot.
It's

Reproduced the Login process died too early issue.
Hi.
I tried for some time to reproduce the "Login process died too early
issue".
It seems related to when the system run out of file descriptors, to
force the issue i forwarded 3k of messages trough the server(using
thunderbird).
I also tried with my usual mail application - mail.app, but no luck
there.

Adaptive design code
I have been trying to create code to calculate the power for an adaptive design with a survival endpoint according to the method of Schafer and Muller ('Modification of the sample size and the schedule of interim analyses in survival trials based on interim inspections,' Stats in Med, 2001). This design allows for the sample size to be increased (if necessary) based on an interim look at

Search for a usable pan manual
Hello,
I'm looking for a more descriptive manual/tutorial/paper for the pan package.
The provided manual and example do not contain any useful hints how to
specify a model with more than one variable and leaves several questions
unanswered. This also applies to the referred paper "Schafer: Imputation of
missing covariates under a multivariate linear mixed model."
Can anyone

What BIC is calculated by 'regsubsets'?
The function 'regsubsets' appears to calculate a BIC value that is
different from that returned by the function 'BIC'. The latter is
explained in the documentation, but I can't find an expression for the
statistic returned by 'regsubsets'.
Incidentally, both of these differ from the BIC that is given in Ramsey
and Schafer's, The Statistical Sleuth. I assume

LDAP usernames with spaces
I'm trying to setup dovecot to work with an existing virtual user
database in LDAP in order to replace courier-imap.
I have users in LDAP with dn of the following form
cn=Firstname Lastname,ou=company,dc=domain,dc=com
and the uid attribute containes a userid of the form
flastname
The on disk format for an account is:
/home/exim/<uid>/.maildir
My first problem is that I cannot get

analysis of multivariate normal (missing values)
Hi,
I could not find an R package for the analysis of multivariate normal
datasets with missing values. Prof. Joseph Schafer has created an S+ library
(norm) that does such type of analysis, which I now ported to R.
I guess that I should have asked here if there are other people working on
such project, before I actually ported it, but... If such package has not been
ported, I will upload the

Adaptive survival design
I am developing R code to implement the adaptive design approach of Schafer
and Muller (Stats in Med 2001) for a survival endpoint. Would anyone be
interested in collaborating with me on this code? I have fairly completed
code, but would appreciate someone else's input on my work.
Regards,

Joe Shafer's imputation packages
Joe Schafer has some imputation libraries in S plus, and
one of them is even on stand alone for Windows.
Has anybody attempted to write these very useful packages in R?

dovecot-1.0_rc7 crashes (Login process died too early) with repeated deletes from thunderbird
I can consistently reproduce a crash in dovecot:
Select 20 or more messages and copy them to a test folder.
Go into that test folder and SHIFT-DEL the messages rapidly (holding down SHIFT-DEL works best)
Just rapidly DELing them (even holding down DEL) doesn't do it (unless it's the Trash folder)
I'm using the following namespace (in case that's relevant)
namespace private {

LDAP Auth problems with auth_bind=yes
Hi,
I first posted this problem a day or two ago and have not seen any
responses yet.
To clarify my problem, I am authenticating virtual users against Active
Directory on Win2k3, where their login id is their email address. I am
using an almost identical setup to Suranga's below, however my initial
bind user doesn't have access to the userPassword attribute, so I am
using:

Wrong headers in dovecot-crlf
Hello everyone,
I'm using the very good imaptest [0] tool to test my little imap server
implementation. I've tried to use the dovecot-crlf [1] file, but it looks like
there are some major issues :
$ grep -n "In-Reply-To.*;" tests/data/dovecot-crlf

dovecot-lda and vpopmail
I'm setting up a new box with Dovecot 1.0 beta1 and vpopmail. Normal
operations works like a charm, i.e. vpopmail virtual can log in
sucessfully using TLS.
However, when trying to test dovecot-lda out of CVS, it is not locating
the user:

> dovecot: Info: auth(default): master in: USER 1

rc7 bug? [Was: deliver LDA and INBOX location] (fwd)
Anyone had any thoughts on the item below?
If the problem is with my config, I'd like to be guided towards how I
might resolve it.
If it is a bug in rc7, it would be good to fix it, and I'd be happy to
beta-test.

Bandwidth: to seperate or not to seperate
Hi everyone,
RE: Bandwidth. We have an asterisk server sharing bandwidth with other
[web] servers in cabinets that we rent in a large data-center and all is
working fine. But I'm concerned that web traffic could affect the VoIP
quality (my tests so far haven't showed this [yet!]. Currently I'm
