rc >= 6, libtool and zsh
Hello Timo,
On FreeBSD 6.1-STABLE, rc7 doesn't build (rc6 didn't either) because
of a broken "sed" in the genarated "libtool" script, at least with the
"zsh" shell comming from the ports (zsh-4.3.2).
This has occured starting from your move from Autoconf 2.59 to
Autoconf 2.60 since for some reason, now "libtool" is run by zsh
(instead of sh as in

RC6 startup failure: "Login prcess died too early"
Greetings.
I have been running Dovecot-1.0rc2 on a test server for the last couple
of weeks. No problems. However, when I installed RC6 this morning,
Dovecot refused to launch completely. Here's the relevant snippet from
/var/log/maillog:

Pb with ssl_disable in 1.0RC6
Hi,
I have a problem after upgrading dovecot 1.0rc1 to 1.0rc6.
I don't use SSL at all so I have 'ssl_disable = yes' in my configuration. This works
fine in 1.0rc1 but dovecot 1.0rc6 failed to start with the following error
message "dovecot: Login process died too early - shutting down".
Setting 'ssl_disable = no' resolves the problem but now dovecot announce TLS

auth protocol, buffers
Hello Timo,
I'm curious about 2 points (I'm using alpha2 but these are general
questions) :
Background :
. I connect to dovecot-1.0.alpha2 through thunderbird
. I use ldap pass/userdb and PLAIN mech
. I've only got one auth block in dovecot.conf (all pass/userdb/mech
except ldap/PLAIN are commented)
1) I notice that, for one thunderbird connection trial, imap-login

test65 killed by SIGSEV
Hi,
I had successfully set up dovecot-1.0-test62 + ldap pass/user db, but
now I'm encoutering a SIGSEV problem with a similar set up of a brand
new dovecot-1.0-test65 installation.
The auth process is killed by a SIGSEV as reported in the error log file :
dovecot: Mar 30 17:06:59 Error: child 28291 (auth) killed with signal 11
To be precise, the problem occurs in the

2.0 FTBFS since sqlpool changes when --with-sql=plugin is used
Hi,
yesterday lib-sql got driver-sqlpool with some changes in Makefile.am, but
these changes in makefile works only for --with-sql=yes. When --with-sql=plugin
is used build fails with:
libtool --tag=CC --mode=link gcc -std=gnu99 -O2 -g -pipe -Wall -Wp,-
D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 -fexceptions -fstack-protector --param=ssp-buffer-size=4 -

Build problems with non-standard location of mysql libs
Overall the build process for dovecot is very clean. I did however run
into a significant problem when it came to locating the mysql libraries,
especially when building a 64 bit executable but similar problems
occured building a 32 bit executable. I am describing the 64 bit build
issues below since that is the worst case scenario. Fixing the 64 bit
build will automatically fix the 32 bit

crypt missing (configure problem)
Hi, I need some feedback for the following problem I encountered
compiling dovecot.
It seems to be a wrong check in configure, that comes out in a fatal
error (crypt symbol not found because the -lcrypt is omitted).
With these configure parameters no crypt module is recognized (and so
the need_crypt variable is still off), but at compile time gcc fails
to create executables.
I solve the issue

MMC crashes with rc6
Hello,
I am having a problem after performing a classicupgrade with rc6. This did
not happen with previous RCs. When adding any of the AD MMC snap-ins from a
member computer, MMC crashes with the error below. I have the provision
scripted and am using the same ldif, smb.conf and /var/lib/samba, so I'm
fairly certain the only difference is rc6. I am testing with a Win 7 VM
image that was
