Upgraded and authentication fails with LDAP
FreeBSD 5.2.1
Upgraded to dovecot 0.99.12.1
After authentication failed, I also upgraded OpenLDAP
to 2.2.19
Dovecot and OpenLDAP are now the most recent versions
in the ports.
I can access the LDAP info through the OpenLDAP client
without a problem, so slapd seems to be working fine.
Both dovecot and OpenLDAP worked fine before the
upgrade. Any help will be appreciated, since several

Hie Folks,
I'm having a little problem with quota + ldap. I want to use per user

So I configured quota on my /etc/dovecot.conf like this site
http://wiki.dovecot.org/Quota examples.
Here follows my /etc/dovecot.conf:
protocols = imap imaps pop3 pop3s
ssl_disable = no
ssl_cert_file = /usr/share/ssl/certs/cert.pem
ssl_key_file = /usr/share/ssl/private/pkey.pem

Ambiguous ..... problem using Dovecot v1.0.alpha4 on OpenBSD 3.8
I verified that "default_mail_env" on my dovecot configuration file are "maildir:" correctly prefixed and ... permissions of /var/mail/mydomain and /var/mail/mydomain/myuser are 2755 and owner is root:mail.
Dovecot user is member of mail group.
I'm sure that isn't an authentication problem.
I've tried some days to understand and to find over internet but I've

Looking in the maillog file for further error details gives me this:

Problem with "INDEX" in default_mail_env, and pop3
Hello all,
I've a problem with maildir, pop3 and relocated indexes.
My configuration is:
default_mail_env = maildir:%h/Maildir:INDEX=/var/dovecot/index/%
u:CONTROL=/var/dovecot/control/%u
I created the "/var/dovecot/{index,control}/%u" directories, each one
have rights 700 and the ownership is assigned to the user.
When the pop clients connect, they fail with the error

Questions about mail process chroots
Greetings,
I am configuring a new Dovecot installation, and the way the
valid_chroot_dirs and mail_chroot variables affect the mail processes are a
bit unclear to me. I was wondering if anyone could provide me with more
specific details than the comments in the configuration file do, or maybe
even recommend some values given my configuration.
We have a Debian GNU/Linux system and a mix of users

dovecot and vmailmgr
hello
now that dovecot supports authentication with checkpassword-compatible
modules, I tried to get it working for IMAP on a qmail + vmailmgr
server.
For a subtle detail, while claiming to be "a drop-in replacement for
the standard
checkpassword", checkvpw (auth module for vmailmgr) is not "drop in".
It actually
expects 2 args on its command line, not 1. So, a wrapper
