Makefile.in diff against CVS to prevent man/config rebuild every make
Bug: all .out files get rebuilt every make. This is silly, and breaks make install if root cannot write to your build dir. Fix: add dependancy check sop .out files only get rebuilt if the source file changes FixBug: if any source file gets changed, all .out files get rebuilt. This is because man pages and config files both get .out extensions but get created differently. It's

file ownership
Hello, I'm pleased to become a list member. Excuse me! I need your help. My problem is that: We have a Samba server running on Linux, this is a PDC in our LAN. There is a share in the server with full access for any user (that's the idea), but when a user writtes a file in the share, he/she becomes the new file owner, and the write permission is exclusively for him/her, consequently

Once more, with diffs... (configure.in aclocal.m4 patch against CVS)
The attached unified diff fixes configure so that all --with-libfoo options are allowed to be --with-libfoo=PATH. If the option is specified with a PATH, only that PATH is searched for the library. If it is specified as =yes or with no argument, it tries without modifying anything, and then tries looking in /usr/local. The SunOS5 targets no longer add /usr/local to include or library paths

Nmbd question...
Hi! I'm a Linux beginner, and I installed Suse Linux 8.2 to my computer. I installed Samba too... Then I configured it... I wrote in to the web browser: http://localhost:901. Swat came in, and I configured things what I read in a Samba book. Then I started smbd, and nmbd. Smbd worked, but nmbd won't start! I made a probe to write in the "smbd -D" command. It worked... But by

y axis in histograms
Hi all, This is my first post, I hope you will help me. I've some data to present with histograms. I have few values with almost 99% of the frequencies (thousands) and some other values with low frequencies (below one hundred) that I want to emphasize. I think if I could present the logarithms of the frequencies, these could be presented in a more convenient way, but I don't know how

Updated partial auth patch against CVS
Here is a new version of my partial auth patch against the April 24, 2001 CVS image. It fixes a couple of things (thanks to Karl M <karlm30 at hotmail.com>), and includes support for hostbased auth. It's still not pretty, but it works. 2 things Karl mentioned aren't fixed: - auth methods are still hard-coded into servconf.c. Fixing this would require a lot of work, and all the

configure changes
I finally got around to looking at a bunch of patchs to configure.in, some of them from back in March. One from Carson Gaspar <carson at taltos.org> looked promissing at first glance but after many hours I just couldn't get it to work. Due to much demand, I have added optional PATH to --with-pcre, --with-zlib, and --with-tcp-wrappers. I have done extensive testin on --with-zlib, and

link(2) to rename files in sftp
Is there an alternative to using link(2) to rename files in sftp-server? Some users use sftp to upload files to a vfat partition on an sftp-server, and then renaming doesn't work. This breaks konqueror, for example (from KDE, which u), which upload files first with a ".part" extension and then renames them removing this extension.

New initial patch to implement partial auth with SSH2
HI! I would like to introduce new patch which adds new config option "AuthOrder2" to sshd_config. I would like to say that I only modyfied the patch made by Carson Gaspar. If you want to know more about this patch see thread at: http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=openssh-unix-dev&m=98577021011067&w=2 I will appreciate any feedback from you. This patch is against 3.1p1. bridging - Didn't get a frame from channel
Hi, I am having a difficulty with getting two realtime user?s to bridge on answer. I have managed successfully to bridge the same two users/channels via the Bridge Manager api command and confirm that the two communicate directly bypassing the asterisk server (I confirmed this with Wireshark). Does anyone have some ideas? I have put some log entries below. I haven?t attached my
