Any news with the MS OE "Headers only" problem?
Hello.
About year ago I tested OE and dovecot imap and met this problem
(http://wiki.dovecot.org/Clients#head-129bcbfc238b5c34362b8216db87c05e7a34af85)
- Using "Headers only" synchronization is buggy and can cause "Message
is no longer available on this server" error when opening a mail.
I configured OE to sync All messages, and it worked, but then it's acts
like pop3 and

Samba logging behavior on new files
Hi list,
I have home made program, which uses File Alteration Monitor library
to watch samba log files for new file creation in samba share
directory.
This technique works fine when I use GNU/Linux machine as client and
it fails when I use Windows machine as client. The cause of failure
is, samba server creates different pattern of logs and sometimes it
does not create log entries on new file

Dovecot and Mail.app
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
I'm trying to convert a courier-imap installation over to using
Dovecot, but I'm having some problems with Mail.app on OS X. FTR, we
use both Mail.app and Thunderbird. Note that in the Mail.app
preferences, I have a blank IMAP Path Prefix. I'm using Dovecot
1.0_rc15 on Gentoo, and Mail.app from OS X 10.4.8, Thunderbird 1.5.0.9.

isync with dovecot
Hi folks,
I use isync, an IMAP sync tool (Debian package isync 0.9.2-2) together
with dovecot (dovecot-imapd 0.99.10.8-0.backports.org.1).
Everytime when isync wants to upload a new mail from the client to the
server I got messages like this:
Mailbox outbox
Selecting IMAP mailbox... >>> 16 SELECT "outbox"
* FLAGS (\Answered \Flagged \Deleted \Seen \Draft)
* OK [PERMANENTFLAGS

What is the recommended way to delete a message from a mailbox ?
Hi,
I'm implementing a shell-script (pseudo) solution to the missing IMAP Outbox
feature in Dovecot (Courier IMAP feature
http://www.inter7.com/courierimap/INSTALL.html#imapsend)
In order to remove the message from the Outbox once it is sent I have a
question:
What is the recommended way to delete a message from a mailbox (from an
"external" server side program - such as a shell

New Dovecot installation and OE not POPing problems
Greetings:
Recently I converted my mailserver to Postfix with some local accounts being
accessed via Dovecot and POP3S.
The clients are OE. The users are reporting that they aren't getting their
messages. In the past with my old (IW?) POP server, I just used mail -f
/var/spool/user and deleted the "DO NOT DELETE THIS MESSAGE...." message #1
and this cleared any problems with

[LLVMdev] Mips backend -- Incorrect globaladdr/constpool address generation when bit 15 of address is set?
Hi All,
In SVN head, MipsISelDAGToDAG.cpp has the following optimization:
// Operand is a result from an ADD.
if (Addr.getOpcode() == ISD::ADD) {
// When loading from constant pools, load the lower address part in
// the instruction itself. Example, instead of:
// lui $2, %hi($CPI1_0)
// addiu $2, $2, %lo($CPI1_0)
// lwc1 $f0, 0($2)

limit sharing ability to certain users
Sorry for that! I was offline during writing my answer to your mail and so it left my outbox after the advice from Sami.
The solution works well when using passwd userdbs only. I didn?t get it running in conjunction with ldap userdb. I tried to use an LDAP attribute and mapping it to userdb_acl_globals_only and another try with acl_globals_only. Both attributes were not considered by the lookup.

outlook express 6 imap client workaround
My outlook express users connecting with imap are having issues with
client timeout. The wiki says to add oe6-fetch-no-newmail, but when I
add that workaround I get this error in the logs:
Jun 2 10:00:13 mail dovecot: IMAP(username): Unknown client workaround:
oe6-fetch-no-newmail
I'm using 1.0b7. Any ideas?

configuration guidelines.
Our imap/pop service is moving from UW imap to dovecot 0.99.11 on RHEL4.
This is for around 200 users with lots of different email clients, e.g.:
Windows: outlook, outlook Express, eudora, thunderbird, netscape
OS X: mail, eudora, thunderbird
Unix/Linux: evolution, thunderbird, pine, mutt
Web: squirrelmail
Apart from the example configuration file, I can't find

OT: IMAP folder aliases
It seems that there is no standard for folder names that deal with typical
message classes such as drafts, outbox, sent, spam etc. At least there's no
common sense on a naming convention that tells how client should handle this.
Worse than this, most IMAP clients auto-create folders according to their own
naming convention if they don't exist. Every client introduces its own view.

email stuck in outbox
Can anyone here help me out with a client side Outlook issue? I know
outlook is a horrible imap client :(
We intermittently have a problem where mail gets "stuck" in Outlook
users' outboxes.
Might have anything to do with dovecot? Is there anyway I can
troubleshoot this server side? Are there any settings I can tweak?
We have a new and an old dovecot server (see below) and both

performance problems with IMAPS
I've noticed this before and wasn't sure of the problem -- sending large
files from FF.
I tracked it down, and the problem is in dovecot when it is saving the
mail to my 'Record' (Outbox)...
It's saving the file in tiny chunks....
Looking at a few, I see:
4148 bytes
2116 bytes
1604 bytes
692 bytes
The latency is killing it. I see the TCP window size being as high as
