I can no longer use TLS for Windows7 and Outlook
I currently use Ubuntu 20.04 with Dovecot 2.3.7.2 and OpenSSL 1.1.1f.
A few months ago there was an update to all these systems and since
then I've had to talk W7 and old Mac clients through disabling ports
993/995 with TLS enabled back to ports 143/110 without SSL or they
could not pick up email. Thunderbird users (ie; me) were unaffected.
Could anyone share a set of port 993/995 SSL

login: Missing protocol from server name 'imap'
I also tried the 0.99 and hacking login-process.c, with no success.
It seems to expect a slash delimited string like 'name/protocol' and it
just gets "imap" there, but I didn't figure out where this string comes
from or what it ought to be.
So I would be grateful if someone could enlighten me.

FSD sequence: Waiting for bigger and slower clients before cutting power
Hi, this does sound like a useful idea - although for the principle of
least surprise and for variation in deployments, I'd rather have it as a
(non-default state of a) configuration toggle that can be set via
`upsmon.conf`: whether this particular client exits after processing FSD or
not. The onus for the rest would be on general systems integration - e.g.
ensure that init scripts `K*`ill the

FSD sequence: Waiting for bigger and slower clients before cutting power
Hi, and thanks for this great piece of free software! I've been meaning to
sort this out for some time, but we don't get power outages that often,
fortunately...
So, correct me if I'm wrong, but from the documentation at https://
networkupstools.org/docs/user-manual.chunked/
Configuration_notes.html#UPS_shutdown, and also reading upsmon.c, when a UPS
goes OB LB (assuming we have a

separate SSL certificates for pop3s and imaps
Hi,
I'm migrating a uw-imap installation to dovecot. With uw-imap I had
different SSL certificates and keys for ipop3d and imapd. How can I
configure dovecot to do the same with its pop3s and imaps services?
Thanks in advance,

AD DC without integrated DNS
Hi all,
(Samba 4.9.5-Debian (buster) with BIND 9.11.5.P4)
I'm wondering, is it really strictly necessary to use the built-in DNS backend
or the BIND9 DLZ plugin, at least in a forest with no Windows Server DCs? The
LDAP and Kerberos I can understand, but DNS is just a bunch of records, right?
There are a number of records that need to be in place in order for clients to
find the DCs and

How to add the footer to multipart emails
I recently lerned that Mailman adds its footer to MIME multipart
messages by putting the original message in the first part of a new
multipart/mixed entity and the footer in the second part, with
Content-Disposition: inline. It works well in Thunderbird at least, i.e.
the footer is visible; the glitch is that the footer shows up as an
attachment as well, as does my PGP/MIME signature.

application using wxRuby: Albuin (OT?)
Hi.
Just wanted to tell you that I''ve just uploaded Albuin - a music player
I''ve been working on - to RubyForge.
Albuin is heavily inspired by Muine - a music player for GNOME with a really
nice and simple UI.
As I''m stuck on windows (photoshop, autocad, archicad...) Albuin is my
attempt to "port" Muine to windows.
Using Ruby and WxRuby as a bonus

MediaCtrl
Hi.
Attached you find an attempt to adding MediaCtrl to WxRuby. It''s only
tested on windows (compiled with msvc 6.0).
Everything seems to be working fine except for a small problem with a
few functions:
wxFileOffset Seek(wxFileOffset where, wxSeekMode mode = wxFromStart);
wxFileOffset Tell(); //FIXME: This should be const
wxFileOffset Length(); //FIXME: This should be const

Deferring, instead of rejecting, messages when at quota
Greetings -
I'm having trouble working out where to alter this behaviour (so
please forgive me if it turns out to be an Exim thing rather than
Dovecot!)...
My test service is using Exim as the MTA and Dovecot's "deliver" for
the LDA. We are using Maildir mailboxes with filestore quotas.
When I send a large test message to myself that cannot be delivered
because I
