Hey everyone, I'm trying version 1.0rc2, via the rpm at ATrpms. I'm running on CentOS
4.3 on an Opteron system. I have this running stably on a 32 bit system, but I'm
crashing constantly on a 64 bit system.
Here's what I'm getting in my mail logs when I try to log in via IMAP:

Dovecot with Imp problems
Hi guys,
I've run into a strange problem using beta 8 and beta 9 when using the latest version of Horde/IMP
Through IMP, I can see that there are messages in the maildir on the sidemenu(popup menu) but the emails don't show in my actual
inbox.
I thought this was an IMP problem, but then I downgraded to dovecot 99 series RPM and this resolved the problem.
I was seeing the following

Public Namespace & ACL & Virtual Users
Background:
I am wanting to create shared folders (public namespace) with access
control lists on the sub directories.
Our implementation of dovecot (v1.0b7) uses many virtual users and
domains and 1 actual user (vmail), all using maildir. So far I have
successfully created the public namespace (Public_Folders) which every
user can access but I'm having difficulty restricting access using

Sieve Filtering?
I am wanting to set-up some basic sieve filtering on our Dovecot 1.0b7
box. Is this possible in 1.0b7?
I'm completely new to sieve filtering so a basic dovecot sieve filtering
how to would be fantastic!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1.0rc8: another problem? Possibly 64-bit index?
Yesterday I gave a status report about 10.rc8 in production, which
mentioned a problem about "Login process died too early..."
Timo suggested a patch for logging error messages. I've applied this.
Others suggested increasing "login_max_processes_count". That was already
way above our likely maximum, but I've doubled it anyway.
Today, I've just repeated the

passing remote ip to pam
to improve forensic log info i want to set the PAM_RHOST value to the
remote ip (which pam logs as rhost=foo in failure messages). i didn't
look to see if anything has been done in this way on CVS because i'm still
on 0.99.10.6.
below is a bit of a hack. in some sense the remote_ip might make more
sense in the AUTH_LOGIN_REQUEST_NEW packet rather than the continue
packet... but that

rsync'd destination much larger than source
Hello.
Recently, I started using rsync to backup files in my root partition on an
Ensim
box over to a remote machine. The remote machine 'pulls' from the Ensim box
using the following:
rsync -arvzx --exclude=/proc --exclude=/tmp --exclude=/mnt --delete
--delete-excluded -e ssh 192.168.0.1:/ /bkup/rootpart/
The problem is, if I 'df' the Ensim box, it reports that the entire

Feature req: multiple source trees
Hi everybody,
I want to share a feature request I wrote here some time ago.
I'd like to give rsync more than 1 source-tree, where the "sum" (as
described below) is rsync'd to the destination.
suppose I have some machines, which have almost the same configuration,
different only in small details.
Then I want to rsync all machines from a master, with the details as

Yes, I discovered this when I rsync'd a whole 4Tb filesystem and the
backup system decided everything had changed because the attributes had
changed. I've settled on using "rsync -avHAX ..." and that seems to
keep everything preserved.

file corruption
Hi,
I am backing up about 500G of data from a linux-based NAS to a USB
hard drive attached to a router (rt-n16 with tomatousb firmware). Both
NAS and the router have rsync-3.0.9. The router is running rsync in
the daemon mode. To test the set up, I rsync'd the files to the empty
USB hard drive, then back to the NAS in a new temp dir. Afterwards, I
did a local "diff -r" on the NAS.

Public Namespace + ACLs + virtual users
g'day!
I'd just like to share my experience with public namespace and ACLs.
I know this has been discussed a number of times in the past, but there
were no definite answers.
dovecot version i'm using: 1.0.13
Got a public namespace setup in dovecot.conf as follows:
namespace public {
separator = .
prefix = Public_Folders.
location = maildir:/home/vmail/domains/%

WINT-NT is working as PDC and Redhat Linux Samba BDC and how to use rsync?
Can anybody give me a hint how to set up Samba BDC(RedHat 9.0) with
rsync-ing WIN-NT PDC so that if WIN-NT PDC is down all the clients can
still get Authentication service from Samba BDC(RedHat 9.0). i have seen
in Samba documentation that it can be done using rsync but nowhwere it
is clearly explained howto do it.. I ran out of gas by looking through
google also... :-(

[PATCH] RPA authentication mechanism
Hello all,
attached patch implements Compuserve RPA athentication mechanism.
Tested with:
- Eudora 6 (uses Compuserve "Virtual Key" RPA software);
- TheBat! 2.11 (uses it's own RPA implementation).
I hope it can be useful for someone.
Best regards.
