workspaces/desktops/viewports on top/bottom of cube?
I know this has probably been asked before, but, I'll ask anyways: Workspaces/Desktops/whatever on the top and bottom of the cube, is there any chance this will ever happen? I love how in gnome you can have work spaces in rows/columns, and i tend to have 4-6 workspaces (well 6, but only 4 gets used all of the time, but its nice to have the "buffer" workspaces. since using compiz

Bottom panel on new C7.3
Hi Liam, Your correct. I copied pasted too fast. The OLD gconftool-2 is for the older CentOS 6 version of things. The command for CentOS 7 is this: dbus-send --print-reply --session --type=method_call --dest=org.gnome.Shell /org/gnome/Shell org.gnome.Shell.Eva string:'Main.panel.actor.hide();' When I enter this command by hand I am getting this error: Error

C7 hide bottom panel
After much searching I found how to hide the panel. dbus-send --print-reply --session --type=method_call --dest=org.gnome.Shell /org/gnome/Shell org.gnome.Shell.Eval string:'Main.panel.actor.hide();' Works great... However - I also wish to hide the bottom panel or workspace. Anyone know what that is??? I tried Main.Workspace.actor.hide() and that did not work. Thanks, jerry

Mouse cursor problems in Windows DomU after installing ATI-driver fglrx to X11
Hallo, I run Xen 3.0.4.1 on Ubuntu 6.06 with Gnome desktop. I can start Windows as DomU without problems, everything works fine (w2k server32 bit or w2k3 server 64 bit). Because I use the notebook HP nx9420 which has a wide screen, I installed into X11 the driver fglrx which supports the given resolution mode 1680x1050. Now, with the new driver The Gnome

Lost buttons at page bottom in wine config!
I am using 1.1.38 with Fedora 13, which I am new to and its a new set up for me. It worked ok at first and I installed my two accounts programs (which also have issues I'll bring up in the application section). I added these with wine config, hunting down the files and they went in ok and more or less run. Then I went to install AD-muncher by just clicking on the down loaded file and I was

yum groupinstall "GNOME Desktop" fails
I?ve got a CentOS 7 VM here that was installed with one of the CLI-only presets. To answer a question in another thread here, I wanted to install a GNOME desktop environment in it, so I went searching and found the standard instructions for doing that. The problem is that rebooting the VM gives me a black screen after it finishes the text booting parts. There?s an X cursor, and wiggling the

VNC vs GNOME desktop
I'm trying to use VNC to connect my home Centos box (up to date centos 5) to my Centos 4 (also up to date) at work. I have no problem connecting. The problem occurs after logging in, for every applet in the bottom Gnome panel I get an error box from which I can choose to remove the applet from the panel, or just go on. I choose to not delete but to just go on. After I get a half dozen or so of

Specifying Greek Character in Lattice Plot Label
For an axis label I want to include the Greek letter mu within the string. I've not found the proper way of including that expression within the string. What I want is "Conductivity (uS/cm)" with the 'u' replaced by mu. When I try "Conductivity (" expression(paste(mu)) "S/cm)" I get an error. If I don't separate Conductivity and S/cm with

compiz without a desktop window
Running compiz without a desktop window has some unexpected behavior. It is not possible to grab the cube with the mouse. The pointer needs to be over a window for it to work. In display.c the XSelectInput call in addDisplay is missing ButtonPressMask and ButtonReleaseMask, so it makes sense why this doesn't work. Is there a reason why they have been left out? Lower window with Button2 on
