Bug: maildirsize not updated when deleting folders
When using maildir++ quotas, if you delete an IMAP folder, the maildirsize
file should get updated so that it subtracts the size of the messages that
were contained in the deleted IMAP folder. However Dovecot is not doing
this, resulting in Dovecot showing an incorrect quota value until the next
time the maildirsize file is rebuilt.

Getting maildir++ quotas working
Can somebody post details for how to get maildir++ quotas working in the
latest CVS?
I have tried but can't get the CAPABILITY string to show "QUOTA"; and the
GETQUOTAROOT command is recognized, but returns nothing...

* QUOTAROOT "INBOX" ""
* QUOTA "" ()

doveadm quota get doesn't recalculate quota (Maildir backend)
Hello,
I've noticed that "doveadm quota get" doesn't recalculate quota if
maildirsize file is missing for some reason. It just says quota is
unknown, usage is 0.
In contrast, vpopmail does regenerate maildirsize if it is missing.
Reading the Maildir++ specification there is this part:
...If maildirsize does not exist, or if its size is at least 5120
bytes, recalculate

[BUG] Incorrect maildir quota value after maildirsize creation
I found a problem with maildir++ quota. When dovecot creates maildirsize

recalculation of maildir Quota
Hello,
I intend to use maildir Quota for measurement only, not for applying
restrictions. Therefore I defined rather high values. That's working as
expected. Nevertheless it's not useful, because the recalculation time
is to high. This takes some minutes for my own mailaccount with 250.000
mails on a NFS storage. This would be to bad, but whilst this time, the
Mailclient hangs. Probably

maildir++ Quotas - bizarre behavior.
Hi Timo et al.
I've been trying to track down why Dovecot recalculations of maildirsize
are so wildly different (lower) than what Maildrop comes up with.
I think I've found some bizarre behavior in Dovecot -- this is in beta9 as
well as CVS from yesterday.
It appears Dovecot isn't looking at /Maildir/cur ... /Maildir/new and
/Maildir/tmp. It is, however, looking at

GETQUOTAROOT (part 2)
Hello,
I'm a recent convert to dovecot from courier-imap and the
performance has certainly improved. I'm running the vanilla
1.0.7 version that came with the CentOS 5.2 x86_64 distro.
I've come across a similar problem that was posted by Ralf
Hildebrandt earlier this year under the same subject, but
that thread just seems to have died off. I'm also using per-
user maildirsize

Get the size of a maildir
Hello.
I would like to know it a 'proper' solution exist to get the size (in
MB) of a maildir. Actually, to get it, I do a 'du -sh' but I'm not sure
it is a good solution. And it does not return the same value than
imap-quota.
Is there a command, a tool, in Dovecot to get it?
There is the maildirsize but it's very difficult to get the value with
a script shell and with

Maildir++ quota inconsistency
I've found what I think is an inconsistency in the Maildir quota
implementation. According to the Maildir++ quota specification at:
http://www.inter7.com/courierimap/README.maildirquota.html
Maildir++ quota can be specified as maximum size, or maximum number of
messages, or even both. The size specification is supposed to be in bytes.
So I could use '10000000S' to set a quota of

Double quota calulation when special folder is present
Hello,
we're operating dovecot on a small server. Some years ago, we migrated
from courier IMAP to dovecot. Therefore, we defined our default
Namespace "inbox" with prefix "INBOX." to have this compatible. I found
this in some migration docs those days. Generally, everything worked as
expected.
Our only namespace is configured like this:
namespace inbox {

Vanishing maildirsize files with 1.0.7 using 'deliver' via postfix
Aloha,
I've searched the list and have found no similar reports, so I'm asking
here.
We have 3 RH5.1 boxes running the stock Postfix 2.3.3, but due to issues
with the stock Dovecot 1.0rc15, Redhat supplied us with the version of
Dovecot 1.0.7 that will be in Redhat 5.2.
The mail store is automounted per-user from a Sun box via NFS.
We were using it with no problems until last Friday,

Courier migrating issues: indexes, maildirsize, update query
Hi,
(my first post to the list)
I'm in the process of testing Dovecot to see whether it meets our needs
to replace our current Courier setup which serves well over 100.000
mailboxes (pop3 and imap: mysql with NFS)
So far dovecot seems pretty straight forward; however I ran into a
couple of things that I'm curious about.
1. What's the deal with

dovecot 1.00 RC2 bugs
imho, dovecot 1.00 RC2 has two bugs at the maildir quota implementation
1. Incorrect calculation of used storage and count of messages
When calculating, dovecot counts "." and ".." directory entries. So, if
there are no subdirs and messages in maildir,
maildirsize still shows 4 messages and some used storage.
My workaround is

Bug: quota-maildir.c, array accessed out of bounds
Timo,
In src/plugins/quota/quota-maildir.c, in the maildirsize_read() function, if the maildirsize file is greater that 5120 bytes, this code breaks because the while loop executes multiple times, incrementing size to a value larger than 5120, and then size is later used to referece the buf array out of bounds. To fix it you could add a break statement after "size+= ret;" so that the

quota recalc problem for big maildirs
hi,
we use dovecot 2.2.13, and we've lately started using maildir quota
(previously fs quota was used, right now it's "quota = maildir:User
quota" changed from "quota = fs:User quota:user:inode_per_mail").
When the change was applied we didn't manually forced generating
maildirsize files. So, when the first deliver happens (or the file grows
larger then 5KB)
