Maildir + NFS + multiple machines = spectacular failure
I'm running beta7 on two machines, with maildir on NFS. I have lockd running on all machines. I've found that Dovecot is highly unstable with NFS when accessing a mailbox on more than one machine at the same time. Both dovecot machines have: mmap_disable = yes lock_method = fcntl NFS is version 3, exported from a third linux machine. All machines are running 2.6.9 kernel. Any ideas

Test migration (IMAP copy) and INTERNALDATE?
We're trying some migration tests ... from CommuniGate to Dovecot. The migration program does an APPEND into the new mailbox: src>: a0 FETCH 2900 (FLAGS INTERNALDATE RFC822.PEEK) src<: * 2900 FETCH (FLAGS (\Seen) INTERNALDATE "29-Aug-2005 18:36:54 +0000" RFC822 {1194157} src<: ) dst>: bAPP APPEND "INBOX" (\Seen) "29-Aug-2005 18:36:54 +0000" {1194157}

Hi folks. We're trying to set up Dovecot with Maildir++ quotas. Operating system is CentOS 4.3 (final) X86 using Dovecot 1.0b5. On efficiency, Vectorize and loops
In my last e-mails, I have asked for help regarding 1. 'defining functions inside loops' 2. 'integrating functions / vector arithmetics' 3. 'vectors out of lists?' 4. 'numerical integration' Since some of these topics seemed to be relevant (I'm guessing by the # of replies I got), I'm posting a modified section of my code. Any thoughts on improvements would

Compiler warnings in dovecot-2.1.2 and pigeonhole 0.3.0
I'm seeing a few warnings emitted when building for x86. They're pretty obvious, but if you want the configure options etc, I can provide those. In Dovecot 2.1.2 (I also see some of these in 2.1.1): 1) src/lib-index/mail-cache-fields.c (comparison between two last_used fields) mail-cache-fields.c: In function 'mail_cache_header_fields_read': mail-cache-fields.c:406: warning:

[libnbd PATCH v2 09/13] info: Simplify by using nbd_opt_go
Instead of having to munge a URI to supply a different export name, we can exploit the fact that nbd_opt_mode lets us change the preferred export name after nbd_connect_uri has established its socket. In fact, by doing this, nbdinfo no longer needs to directly link against libxml2, so it can now be built regardless of whether the underlying libnbd.so supports URIs (although use of the program

dsync, a zero-way synchronisation tool?
Hi folks! I have set up dsync replication with SSH according to http://wiki2.dovecot.org/Replication with the exception of having system users and calling doveadm dsync-server directly from authorized_keys, because the wrapper script posted on the above site is needless (at least in 2.2.10). However, while the two instances connect well to each other, no synchronisation is performed at all, the

Time moved backwards by 4398 seconds
Dovecot (v1.1.rc8) died tonight, with an error about time moving backwards by 4398 seconds. I can see from logs that this has happend a few times before with the imap processes, without me noticing. I sure noticed the master process missing, though :-). I was puzzled that it was always 4398 seconds, in particular because this server runs an NTP daemon. A little searching for this problem shows

[libnbd PATCH 2/2] info: Expose description in list mode

[5.10] PXE + dhcp opts 209, 210 and path issues in tftp/http

failed assertion in 1.1.8: istream.c: line 81
Hello, We're having a problem in Dovecot 1.1.8 with a failed assertion on certain mbox format mailboxes. It happens both with deliver when it attempts to delier to the mailbox, and with IMAP connections for the affected box (though I'm not sure what they're doing at the time). group ownership of new shared folders
Between versions 1.0.4 and 1.0.5 there were some changes to the way dovecot-shared group ownership is propogated into new maildirs. Changing the group of new_dir/{tmp,new,cur} was added, but changing the group of new_dir itself was removed. As far as I can tell, this latter change may have been accidental. This patch puts the functionality back, in the 1.1 tree.

Bug in yesterday's CVS..
Hi Timo. I'm doing some testing with yesterday's CVS code and believe I've found a bug. In SquirrelMail, I get 5 messages in INBOX (doesn't matter how). I click "Toggle All" then "Delete". All 5 messages move to Trash. The Trash folder gets a link "expunge". I click that and get the following error: ERROR : Bad or malformed request. Query:STORE

verbose imap logging
Implements more verbose imap logging (when client exits). Similar to existing logging in POP3. Due to the nature of imap and my incomplete understanding (of the dovecot code) the session statistics reported have varying accuracy. Much better than nothing IMO. SV: How does asterisk behave when multiple phonesare logged in on a single SIP/account?
Yeah I do use ring groups at the moment. But the problem is that I can't control "the flow". Let's take your example. dial(SIP/dev1&SIP/dev2&SIP/dev3) If I dial these 3 numbers, and dev2 is already one the phone. How do I check for that? I only want one of the three phones active at the time. But if no telephone is busy, they all should ring until the call is
