dovecot-lda, sieve, maildir
I'm unable to get dovecot-lda with sieve filtering to deliver into
maildir folders. The examples on the wiki explicitly say "mbox", so
I'm wondering, does the dovecot-lda sieve implementation not support
filtering into maildir folders?

deliver setgid issues
Okay .. have dovecot set up with following settings :
userdb static {
args = uid=97 gid=97 home=/export/dovecot/mail/%d/%u
mail=mbox:/export/dovecot/mbox/%d/%u/
}
passdb passwd-file {
# Path for passwd-file
args = /etc/dovecot-passdb
}
Passdb works I think in the sense that I can log into dovecot using a
regular mail client.
The real issue is when I try to deliver

IMAP/Plain Text issue with Dovecot
I finally got Dovecot working pretty good I just have one small problem. I
can't seem to log in via IMAP, now everything works great through POP but
when I try to login via IMAP I get the following error:
"PLAIN authentication failed. None of the authentication methods supported
by your IMAP server are supported this computer"
Anyone seen this before?

LDA Sieve feature request
Hello,
In http://wiki.dovecot.org/LDA I read
# If there is no user-specific Sieve-script, global Sieve script is
# executed if set.
#global_script_path =
so you can set global_script_path and override it using a per user script.
It would be nice if the per user scripts could be optionally run after (or before maybe?) the global script.
Another nice thing would be per-virtualdomain sieve

dspam dovecot-lda
Hello list,
Is there a way to call a spam filter in dovecot-lda like maildrop uses
the xfilter command within the .mailfilter file to do the same?

LDA input validation
Hi,
I'm using qmail + dspam + dovecot-lda.
A typical .qmail file :
| /usr/bin/dspam --client --deliver=stdout --user "$EXT@$USER" | /usr/bin/preline -f /usr/lib/dovecot/dovecot-lda -d "$EXT@$USER" -a "$EXT@$USER" -m "$EXT2"
When dspam segfault or is killed, preline receive an empty content and only pass to dovecot-lda two headers ( Return-Path and

dspam + dovecot LDA
Hello,
Is there any possibility to make dspam transport validated emails
directly to dovecot LDA? for now I use such schema:
postfix > dspam > postfix > dovecot LDA but wanted to not return
emails to postfix. I've found that such configuration is possible with
dspam+ cyrus IMAP.
Documentation of dovecot is great but I haven't found such solution.
Thanks in advance for any

You're stilling going to lose contents. If dspam fails, the mail
is dumped, the LDA returns exit code 75, and the MTA will probably
issue a bounce Email to the sender.

I'm about to start building a system for ~10,000 users, using dovecot,
and was going to use dspam with it... Is

Dspam Plugin
Johannes, do you have any plans (regarding your dspam plugin) to:
a) Integrate it into libdspam rather than calling the dspam binary?
b) Any ideas for scaling it better, and implementing it scaled better?
I notice a slight discussion about scaling, and you have chosen not to
pursue it. Is that because it's too hard, or just because you don't
need to?
Thanks

LDA Plugin Maybe?
I was just looking into setting up DSPAM, with the Dovecot LDA.
Essentially, what I was probably going to do, was use DSPAM as the
Delivery agent, after postfix, and then have it pass it off to
dovecot, or something along those lines. I just had an idea, if we
start using libdspam, in the dspam plugin, or one of the other
suggested methods, we could have a similar plugin in the LDA, so that

Dovecot + Sieve
Hi guys.
I installed dovecot 1.0.3 with sieve plugin.
It looks like sieve is loaded fine by dovecot [1].
I set up dovecot to use sieve globally:
protocol lda {
mail_plugins = cmusieve quota
sieve_global_dir = /usr/local/etc/sieve/Junk
.....
}
And created a sieve file which is supposed to move all the Spam marked by
dspam to users's Junk folder (listed as Junk in the subscriptions

configuring lda
after coping lda stanza into the config file, I get "unknown protocol name"
error. adding lda to the list of protocols doesn't seem to do the trick.
lda was built during compile and the binary is present, piping into it
manually spits error messages about missing config, so how do I go about
the problem above ?
It is my undertanding that using dovecot-lda would help maintain the
