Secure connection from "localhost" in jails
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Dear dovecot developers, first: thanks for this really cool imapd, on my server it serves some hundred domains, all in all some thousand users, some having hundred thousand mails in their Maildirs (their spam boxes mostly). Since I put this installation in an FreeBSD geli encrypted disc image I had no choice but to choose an imapd with clever

put procmail between postfix and dovecot
Hello, a couple of months ago, also thanks to help from this list, I set up postfix and dovecot for virtual domains on a Centos 4 remote server. I have postfix set up to deliver all email for marco at domain1.net to /var/mail/vhosts/marco_domain1.net/ Everything is fine, as far as postfix is concerned: all email to marco at domain1.net goes in that mailbox, dovecot sees it, etc... Now I need

PAM authentification problem
Hi everybody, we try to migrate our IMAP service from uw-imap to dovecot because of horrible server slowdown when a lot of people poking in theirs huge imap folders. So, I try to run testing instance of dovecot on different imap port (12143) I have trouble with authentication by PAM module of MIT Kerberos. It successfuly works for authentificate users of wu-imap but not for dovecot. I see in

IMAP4rev1 broken with evolution
Hi, I'm running 1.0rc6 on Solaris/SPARC, compiled myself against openssl. Client is Evolution 2.6.2 on my gentoo x86 laptop. As Dovecot is not yet productive, we run it parallel to UW-imap, on other ports. I use TLS. If I configure my evolution client with server-type IMAP, everything works fine. However, dovecot claims IMAP4rev1 support. However, when I set server-type to IMAP4rev1 in

Coral with Xen
Hi! Coral isn''t working from Xen. If you can please try it, maybe i''m just doing something wrong. However it works from outside Xen with the same setup. Can Xen cause this kind of DNS errors? Try something like: http://www.scs.cs.nyu.edu.nyud.net:8090/coral/ or http://www.google.com.nyud.net:8090/ -- /Varga Péter/ ------------------------------------------------------- The

How Can I Add New Flags
Hi all, I am new in Dovecot. I wanna use Dovecot in the big mail system about 4 million active or passive users. We use recently Courier Imap, but search mails process is so slowly. I tried Dovecot that it is better then Courier so much. But I have a problem with integration Dovecot to my system. I am using some extra flags in mails to mark them from others. For example I use a private flag

SSL failures on 1.0B3
I have setup Dovecot 1.0B3, and IMAP works fine, but I cannot get IMAPS to work. I've generated the keys with the mkcert script and Thunderbird can see and accept the certificate but tosses an error just after that. In my log, I'm getting: dovecot: Apr 03 19:07:43 Warning: imap-login: SSL_accept() failed: error:140D308A:SSL routines:TLS1_SETUP_KEY_BLOCK:cipher or hash

Bug / Problem - Dovecot and Thunderbird
Greetings, I've been running Dovecot for a couple years now. Currently 1.0.b8 on FreeBSD i386. I just switched to Mozilla Thunderbird 1.5.0.2 (windows) for an IMAP client, and am having some problems that appear to be at least partially attributable to Dovecot. After configuring the IMAP account, TB fetched the list of folders on the server, but was displaying several folders that had

Missing Mailboxes
I upgraded from Fedora 4 to 5, which took me from dovecot .99 to 1.x. When I started up Thunderbird, I could not see any mailboxes other than Inbox. I am using Maildir with postfix. I re-installed .99, and all the mailboxes are back. I looked at the wiki on Missing Mailboxes, but I am not sure what I have to fix, and I do not really want to re-install the 1.x version and mess around, as I

IMAP threading - the THREAD command
Hi folks, there's an extension [1] to IMAP specifying the THREAD command to return list of message sequence numbers grouped to indicate the threading of them. That draft currently defines two algorithms, one of them based solely on Subjects (which is rather dumb) and the second one, combining Subjects with In-Reply-To (etc) headers. The second method is actually advertised and supported by

Thunderbird 1.5 and messages with no Date: header
hi, some of my Thunderbird users have a minor but annoying problem with messages that have no Date: header. these clients use BODY[HEADER.FIELDS (Date)] as the date for messages. when a message has no Date: header, they display the date as 01/01/1970 10:00:00 because Dovecot returns empty string. would it be possible for Dovecot to return INTERNALDATE instead, for messages that contain no Date:

"QUOTA" CAPABILITY keyword advertised incorrectly?
Greetings - I'm having a frustrating time with mail clients not picking up Dovecot's QUOTA extension to IMAP. The problem is that the QUOTA keyword isn't advertised in Dovecot's response to a CAPABILITY enquiry until *after* the user has authenticated. Unfortunately I've yet to find a mail client that issues a CAPABILITY request after authenticating. Instead all do so

mail messages moving between mailfolders
Hello to all! I'm using IMAP-based antispam self-learning. I have a folder "spam" in each Maildir in which I place spam-tagged messages during delivery. If antispam filter makes mistake, user can drag'n'drop message to/from "spam" folder. I running perl-script periodicaly and retrain spam-filter (dSpam). Now I must scan all messages, but it's not a good
