1.0alpha1: assert and core
Hi, I've been running 1.0alpha1 in production since August 18, and got my first assert and core yesterday. Otherwise it has been running flawlessly. My setup: Sun E220R, Solaris 9, compiled dovecot with gcc 4.0.1, configured dovecot like so: #!/usr/bin/sh VERSION=1.0-alpha1 CC=gcc CFLAGS="-g -O" CPPFLAGS=-I/opt/openssl/include LDFLAGS=-L/opt/openssl/lib \ ./configure

Sync errors trying to sync old mbox inboxes to dovecot
We are currently running dovecot 2.2.rc3. I am trying to 'dsync mirror' old Qpopper/mbox inboxes to our new Dovecot/mdbox servers. For most of the several thousand accounts, it works without issue. But there are a handful of accounts that are generating the following errors. dsync(joe): Error: Sync failed for mbox file /var/opt/migrate/users/joe/inbox: seq=981 uid=981 uid_broken=0

dovecot mbox to dovecot maildir migration
Hi, I'm migrating accounts from one server with dovecot mbox and pam nss-ldap authentication to a new server with dovecot maildir and mysql auth (no posix accounts). My problem is the pop3 uidl format on the two servers are different, even though I'm using pop3_uidl_format = %08Xu%08Xv in both configs, I'm always re-downloading left messages on my test runs. Is there a way I could

Bug in 0.99.14 mbox handling - mail UIDs are renumbered without bumping UIDVALIDITY
Package: dovecot-imapd Version: 0.99.14-1 Severity: important Hi, I think I've identified a bug in Dovecot 0.99.14 as packaged and distributed by Debian Sarge. I believe the bug lies in the original Dovecot source, not with any modifications made by Debian. Specifically, this bug deals with Dovecot's handling of message unique identifiers (UIDs) for IMAP clients when using the mbox

mbox originally needed 0 bytes, now needs maxint bytes
I'm running dovecot 1.2.16 from the ports collection on FreeBSD 8.1-STABLE, amd64. I've long been getting the following kind of messages in my logs, on random occasions when I access or move mail into mboxes: Aug 16 00:43:58 myhost dovecot: IMAP(mike): mbox /home/mike/mail/feedback: seq=88 uid=91 uid_broken=0 originally needed 0 bytes, now needs 18446744073709551615 bytes Whatever

MBOX to Maildir preserving the UIDL (outlook-tested, no redownloading)
TESTED AND RUNNING, MIGRATING from MBOX to MAILDIR, PRESERVE UID and OUTLOOK sees the email as downloaded. I hope this helps a lot of people out there. Feel free to post this somewhere else too. By: Horn Wijaya (hwijaya at nodens.biz) 8th May 2008 I have been searching for weeks for a foolproof method to migrate all my users mbox to maildir/dovecot without having the pain of downloading

mbox separators ignored
Using dovecot-0.99.13-4.FC2 I grabbed a bunch of Mailman archive files from the Weather mailing list here: <http://www.buoy.com/pipermail/weather/> I gunzipped the older ones, then concatenated them all in correct order to create one big mbox file. I dropped it into my ~/mail folder and started my IMAP client (Mulberry) and opened the new Weather folder. It shows one gargantuan

linear classifiers with sparse matrices
I've been trying to get some linear classifiers (LiblineaR, kernlab, e1071) to work with a sparse matrix of feature data. In the case of LiblineaR and kernlab, it seems I have to coerce my data into a dense matrix in order to train a model. I've done a number of searches, read through the manuals and vignettes, but I can't seem to see how to use either of these packages with sparse

Mailbox isn't a valid mbox file
Getting "Mailbox isn't a valid mbox file" on 1.2rc2 after transferring mail from an ancient 0.99.13 system. The first line of the file looks ok. Curiously, it's one of my archival folders of this list. Here's the first header from the top of the file: >From tss at iki.fi Sat May 1 21:48:17 2004 From: tss at iki.fi (Timo Sirainen) Date: Sat May 1 21:54:18 2004

Dovecot mbox & other programs
Hello, I want to use dovecot as imap server with mbox storage format (described at [1]) but I also want to access (and modify!) those mbox files which are stored on server (and used by dovecot). What is correct way to read those mboxes? From wiki page [1] I read that I should ignore first message in mbox (which contains X-IMAPbase header) and mbox file is in mboxcl2 format. And what is

dovecot dead but subsys locked
I'm running dovecot 20051026 version on Redhat4. I tried to do a stress test. However dovecot dies after I login a few hundred users. I have some error messages in my mail log and am not sure if they are related to the problem.
