a long hard road
OK one factor that I had not mentioned previously is this is my first time running Debian (yes I managed to do that since 1997...). Yesterday I found /etc/network/interfaces and understood what it does! My system is like the "About My Network" example except that I have 2 class Cs in the DMZ. >From what I understand I use the same IP on the NET and DMZ interfaces. I don''t

Runaway: A Road Adventure
Has anyone gotten this game to run in Ubuntu 8.04? If so, how did you get it to work? When I try to run the game in a terminal, I get this error "Resource\Resource.000". Is there any special libraries you need in the Wine Configurations?

IPSEC, multiple subnets and multiple road warriors, oh my! :)
Hi all, I''ve been using Shorewall 1.42 for a month on two firewalls at work and my own personal colocated server and love it. While pretty familiar with iptables, I don''t like dealing with it on a daily basis, and Shorewall certainly makes life easier. I''ve deployed Shorewall on both our Toronto and Ottawa office firewalls, and have configured a FreeS/WAN IPSEC

[LLVMdev] road blocks in support shared library of llvm
I am using llvm for a jit engine in a large project, in which multiple shared library modules link against llvm. Since llvm is recommended as a static library, this leads to shared library symbol conflicts, leading to llvm assertions in some global table look up or insertion during the shared library loading time. That forced me to hide all llvm symbols during the link time. An alternative

[LLVMdev] [RFC] Road map for CMake

That's a stunt I want to see happening! Clearly worth a nice bottle of wine in the next EuroLLVM. :D My question is: today we still use autoconf (config.guess) with CMake to pick the correct

Road Warrior phone config
I have a client who works from three locations, he has a Polycom 500 at each location connected to the same PBX. How would you configure the phones? Is it practical to have the extension follow him, I don't want to rely on him turning the phone off when he leaves each location, but he does want to maintain the same extension and voicemail. Road for 1.1 (2.0) backward compatibility
Hi Guus, I know this comes up from time to time. So it is time to update our expectations. Is there a roadmap for a 1.1 backward compatibility already? -rsd -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Bridge LAN for Windows Road Warrior
A couple days ago with help from Guus I got my basic setup running. I played and switched around parameters, modes, subnets etc and always got things working in each config. Trying to move on, I only just now realised that for what I ultimately want to do, I would have to make every machine in my office LAN a tinc node, which I’m not allowed to. I’m allowed to build up a “tinc gateway” (can be

Samba and VPN Road Warrior setup
Hi, I have setup a Linux + FreeS/WAN VPN firewall/gateway to provide Out-of-Office access. I have used DHCP to provide a small subnet block of Internal IPs for use by the external VPN Road Warriors, (All running XP with SSH Sentinel), on their Virtual network interfaces, and the VPN gateway performs ARP proxy on the internal interface so packets go to the right place. No NAT is performed on this

Hi I have an issue with XP PRO laptop users that use their laptops to login locally on the LAN and also remotely via a VPN connection at night/weekends. After logging in remotely the next time they login locally on the LAN they experience extreme slowness with opening applications such as Word, printing and browsing print queues etc. The problem appears to be that the entry for their

the road to 1.0...
Great to hear that things are going smoothly, Josh. My $.02 is that it is worth making 110% sure that you/we've tweaked the codec for speed/compression as much as can be done *before* 1.0, since we're really not under any kind of deadline. Sure, it would be nice to get it out the door, but why not have it rival Shorten and Monkey's right from the start? I'm *still* working on
