Quota does not apply.
Hello list: I am try to run quota plugin but only works a part. The users are virtual and his homedir and mbox are in NFS server, INDEX files are in local disk. Quota only is applied to global home, if I configure a low global quota and sent an mail to my e-mail, quota works fine, mail is temporally deferred. But, if I configure a high global quota and a small quota for INBOX, sent a mail that

mail_location maildir:~/Maildir Invalid user settings[SOLVED]
Hallo list, I was having quite a hard time configuring dovecot on OpenBSD -current. The problem was default Maildir setting in 10-mail.conf, namely: mail_location maildir:~/Maildir was unable to locate user's home directory. As far as I can remember, it was the correct setting on OpenBSD-current a week or two ago. Once I figured out and changed it to mail_location

maildir S= and W=
Hi. Even new mails delivered by my MDA don't get the ,S= and ,W= fields set... (but when I "upload" a mail via IMAP to dovecot, they are set) Is there some place in dovecot where I need to enable this? Or would it be the MDA that has to calculate and set this already when placing a file in ./new? Thanks, Chris. -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was

mbox vs maildir
I am a little confused and maybe if I figure this out I will be able to get this to work. I am now able to get my pop3 working but not imap. My inbox is in /var/spool/mail/%u and my mail directory is /home/%u/mail and then all the 'folders' are there which are actually files. Is that maildir or mbox? Which do I have to use for dovecot? Or can I use whichever I choose. I would

Maildir format, "From " in the first line
Hello, Using Dovecot's deliver MDA, all mails are stored with the line "From <sender> <date>" appended. When forwarding these mails as attachements, the recipients get the source code. When Postfix delivers emails directly in the Maildirs, this first line is not appended, and there is no problem when forwarding the mails. Why is this line appended by deliver ? Is

Performance issue about maildir path.
Hi, all. Normally, i use 'domain.ltd/username/Maildir' as users' maildir path, if i change them to hash style, e.g. 'A0/B0/domain.ltd/C0/D0/username/Maildir', will it speed up the index operation for MDA? If we have 10000 users, which maildir path style will improve performance? Thanks very much. :) -- Best regards. Zhang Huangbin - Open Source Mail Server Solution for

maildir and end-of-line encoding
Hi. I just wondered, the following: My MDA may get mails that use LF or CR/LF end of line encodings and deliver them into maildirs. I couldn't find any information about, whether one should or must convert all into one format, cause AFAIK at least on the IMAP side, CR/LF is always used? How does this work on the maildir/backend side of dovcot? Can it work with both and simply

Maildir and home location
Hello! My current mail setup looks like that: MTA is postfix, MDA is maildrop. Each system user configures mail delivery using the .mailfilter of maildrop to arbitrary maildirs in his home. For each maildir a POP3/IMAP account can be configured, currently I use courier-imap/-pop and think about replacing it by dovecot. AFAIK with dovecot each account has a home and maildir assigned which

I tested all possible combinations of those variable and run for each the Mixture Discriminant Analysis. LMTP don't accept jobs for system users
Hi, I'm trying to configure Dovecot 2.0.1 to deliver email to users in /etc/passwd using the Dovecot LMTP service. So far, I can sucessufully do POP3 for system users, but when Postfix tries to deliver email to the Dovecot LMTP service the LMTP reject the job with: "User doesn't exist ale at centos54.mydomain.com" Any suggestions?
