INBOX as mbox, other mailboxes as maildir
All, I'm trying to teach dovecot to use the mbox format for /var/mail/%u and maildir for /home/%u/Mail/ but I'm having quite a hard time. This is Dovecot v1.0.beta3 under OpenBSD 3.9 on sparc64. I've been fiddling with default_mail_env and also tried separate namespaces, but all to no avail. Here's some of the things I tried : default_mail_env =

Can't find next message offset
Hi, I am getting a lot of warnings since upgrading to 1.1rc10 (from rc4): mbox /home2/seta/Mail/Sent: Can't find next message offset for uid=12 Almost always, it is the Sent or Trash folders that are giving these. Users aren't experiencing any problems, but the errors continue to come. Is this something I should be concerned about? Here is output of "dovecot -n": #

need convert-tool advice
Hi folks, I've got a few thousand accounts that I'd like to convert from mbox to maildir. I'm looking at using convert-tool from the command line to do this, but I'm uncertain about the command line syntax, so I hope someone can take a moment to go over this with me. I'm running dovecot 1.1.6 on this system. Mail accounts are not tied to UNIX system accounts, I'm

rquota didnot show userquota (Solaris 10)
Hi, we have a new fileserver running on X4275 hardware with Solaris 10U8. On this fileserver we created one test dir with quota and mounted these on another Solaris 10 system. Here the quota command didnot show the used quota. Does this feature only work with OpenSolaris or is it intended to work on Solaris 10? Here what we did on the server: # zfs create -o mountpoint=/export/home2

Hi everyone .. need some pro-dovecot arguments :-)
Hi, i never used dovecot so far, but i heard a couple good things about it .. for one the debian maintainer of the exim package recommended it :-) so i want to change our mailserver (currently using ipop3 and uw-imap) to dovecot ... now my boss seems to favour cyrus. i could use some good arguments for dovecot, also your experiences with it and with other mailservers so i can make a

convert-tool, exit code wrong?
Hello, I use convert-tool regularly for converting mbox based mail accounts to maildir based mail accounts. Today I tuned my convert script around convert-tool. I'm irritated about the exit codes. It seems, they should be inverted or am I wrong? $ /opt/dovecot-1.0.10/bin/convert-tool rogtest1 /home/mail01/rogtest1 mbox:/home/rogtest1/mail maildir:/home/mail01/rogtest1/Maildir 1 Error: Source

I recently upgraded from 1.0.8 to 1.1-11 the only thing that was changed in the config file was the new syntax for mail location. default_mail_env = mbox:~/:INBOX=~/mbox to mail_location = mbox:~/:INBOX=~/mbox now some imap clients, like squirrellmail and pine have difficulties writting to Sent, Draft and sent-mail folders. dsync help?
Hi all, I have dovecot serving aprox 200 users through mbox, but the time has come to migrate to a new server, and to use Maildir. Using rsync from the old server I get all user data, i.e /home/*, and inboxes i.e /var/mail/* to a new server. This has worked well for some time as backup. The dsync should convert everything to Maildir, and it does... to an extent. (linebrakes for easy viewing)
