Dovecot - Issue with Maildir++ quotas
Hi, I've been bitten by an issue running Squirrelmail on top of Dovecot using Maildir++ quotas. Having configured these quotas in Dovecot, I notice that Dovecot appears not to exclude the 'Trash' folder from its quota calculation (which it should do, according to the Maildir++ spec). Unfortunately this breaks Squirrelmail if I try to delete a message from a close-to-quota

Getting maildir++ quotas working

I have tried but can't get the CAPABILITY string to show "QUOTA"; and the GETQUOTAROOT command is recognized, but returns nothing... 2 GETQUOTAROOT INBOX * QUOTAROOT "INBOX" "" * QUOTA "" () 2 OK Getquotaroot completed. These are the settings I have... am I

Quotas with Maildir and mdbox
Hello, We use LDAP to store our Maildir++ quota information for our Maildir mailboxes. I notice in the documentation that only SQL and flat files are supported by the dictionary quota if I want to use quota with mdbox? Are there any plans to allow LDAP to be used as the store? Worthwile to use quotas?
I'm aware that dovecot doesn't support Maildir++ quotas yet (pity). However, is it still worthwhile to set up something like Postfix + Maildrop to use quotas, or is dovecot's lack of support just going to throw a wrench in the works? Thanks, :Peter

1.1b3 and Maildir quota
I upgraded a 1.0 install to 1.1b3. Almost everything is working peachy-keen :) It seems faster to me, Offline Folders and 'new mail' options for Thunderbird are now working, and Mail.App doesn't seem to need the extra namespace. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to read my quotas any longer. I went through the docs, and I see the quota plugin has changed, but there doesn't

Driving quota out of a database.
Hi there, I'm using postgres as a userdb for dovecot. I'm am trying to get the quota plugin to work. I have a column in my table that returns the quota in KB. I am using the postgres expression "('maildir:storage=' || mailstore_control.mailbox.quota) AS quota" as recommended in the manuals. This expression is NULL to start with, which I take to mean unlimited

maildri++ quota
When is the maildir quota usages recalculated and written to the second line of the "maildirsize" file? I'm using 1.1.4, and I reset the quotas for my users by just taking the first line of their maildirsize file and deleting the rest. -- Ralf Hildebrandt (Ralf.Hildebrandt at charite.de) snickebo at charite.de Postfix - Einrichtung, Betrieb und Wartung Tel. +49

Deleting when Over Quota
Hi All, I've read a bit about this but don't really see a full solution anywhere. Has anyone actually got a good fix for this? Telling a user they are over quota then not allowing them to delete anything does seem the height of perversion. =) Question is - is this even a problem for the IMAP server? Or should the MUA be detecting over quota problems and then issuing the right

Quotas ignored on INBOX only
I have set up postifx and dovecot (1.1) with virtual users and delivery via LDA. I am very pleased with the results so far but have this problem with quotas. ? Setting a global quota using plugin { } I initially used maildir to set quotas, but they seem to apply to all folders apart from INBOX. ? For debugging I switched maildir to dict using mysql. The table populates as it should with sizes and

Quotas not working after reboot
Hello, after rebooting my dovecot server quotas are no longer working. # dovecot --version 2.2.10 CentOS Linux release 7.0.1406 It is strange that restarting dovecot did not reveal this problem, but rebooting whole server did. Before reboot it was like this: # doveadm -D quota get -u test1 at testdomain1.tld doveadm(root): Debug: Loading modules from directory: /usr/lib64/dovecot

Maildir++ quota inconsistency
I've found what I think is an inconsistency in the Maildir quota implementation. According to the Maildir++ quota specification at: http://www.inter7.com/courierimap/README.maildirquota.html Maildir++ quota can be specified as maximum size, or maximum number of messages, or even both. The size specification is supposed to be in bytes. So I could use '10000000S' to set a quota of

quota calculating
Hey everyone, Currently where I work we use qmail. Every time a message is delivered, qmail seems to walk through the user's entire maildir in order to calculate quota usage. Delivering messages simultaneously to just a few users who are allowed large maildirs (1-2GB) will bring our servers to their knees. Which brings me to dovecot. I use dovecot whereever I can, but haven't yet

Problems enabling quota on MacOS X
Hi, I'm trying to activate quotas for my users, preferably maildir++ quotas as all users are using maildir. I have compiled dovecot with quota-support, but when I try to enable quotas in the config, dovecot refuses to start up with a (to me, at least) strange message: Fopendir(/usr/local/lib/dovecot/imap) failed: No such file or directory Error: imap dump-capability process returned 89

mdbox, quota, ns, maildir quota?
Hello, I pasted my config below, hoping someone can point out something obvious. In my dovecot.log I am seeing: Warning: quota: Namespace '' is not Maildir, skipping for Maildir++ quota I am using mysql userdb_* and passing maildir:~/maildir or mdbox:~/mdbox for mail. When its maildir its fine, I had that originally then used dsync to convert to mdbox, updated mysql entry to point to

Maildir quotas support in Dovecot and 2 other newbie questions
I am not familiar with all the features that Dovecot has, but I am familiar with Courier IMAP using Maildir. Does Dovedot have a software based Maildir supporting quota program like Courier IMAP ? Can maildrop be used with Dovecot for quotas ? Courier IMAP has maildrop integrated. - If maildrop support is turned on in Courier IMAP, then a user will get a quota warning mail message

postfix/dovecot/mysql quotas not working, default dovecot.conf does.
I'm having problems getting dovecot to set imap quotas that are defined as individual quotas for virtual users using mysql. I'm using postfix/dovecot 1.1.3, just built from source about a week ago. I've been testing using telnet and getquotaroot. when I define the quota in dovecot.conf quota = dirsize quota_rule = *:storage=102400 I get the following response from Dovecot:

Dovecot and LDAP-Quotas
Hi all, I have configured Dovecot as a POP/IMAP-Server in front of a Postfix-Server. Every thing works without one thing: LDAP-quotas The main-quota-rule works: quota_rule: *:storage=8M Only the LDAP-quota won't be used by Dovecot: user_attrs = msRADIUSFramedIPAddress=quota_rule=*:storage=%$k I have to use the special LDAP-field "msRADIUSFramedIPAddress" because my W2003

few questions about 1.1*
Hi! I'm testing 1.1, and have some questions. (How) Can I override the default maildir++ quota setting (I mean quota_rule) in the userdb, so that one won't have quota at all. Right now I'm setting a very high limit in the userdb with quota_rule=*:storage=99G in the extra field. Prior to 1.1 I was using 1.0 and had fs quota. I've had set up dovecot so that the indexes were

v1.1 QUOTA and inbox quota
My mail agent is postfix and by default it imposes the INBOX size of 50 meg. I would like my imap mail clients (I'm using Thunderbird) to "see" this and warn me when my inbox fills up. I tried doing it with the old quota system but wasn't successful. With the new quota rule system it looks like per-mailbox quotas are possible, however when I do this: quota = maildir
