Lookup master userdb used with GSSAPI causes auth-worker to report "Error: BUG: PASSL had invalid passdb ID"
Hello to everybody,
I'm in the process of setting up test mail server (Ubuntu 19.10 amd64
running as VM under Hyper-V) and got stuck on configuring master user
authentication. I use GSSAPI authentication in parallel with PLAIN/LOGIN
(pam backend that authenticates against my Active Directory domain) and
this works as intended. I then tried adding simple static master passdb
that simply

Squirrelmail: "ERROR: Connection dropped by IMAP server."
Hi,
running the current version from http://hg.dovecot.org/dovecot/ (but the
same happens with 1.1.beta3)
After yesterday's patches, squirrelmail (tested with 1.4.11 and 1.4.10a)
complains when appending to the Sent folder (after sending a message):

Dovecot LDA + Fedora destribution = no go?
Anyone know of a way to get the LDA to work on the fedora distribution
available on yum? I'm a big fan of the whole yum-auto-updating thing but
if this isn't possible, I'll go tarball.

escaping in sqlite
Hi Timo&all,
a recent change in the sql drivers introduced escaping, but sqlite is a
different in this aspect: You cannot escape with a backslash, the only
character that needs escaping is the quoting character itself (by
doubling it, as the SQL standard says). As the escaping function does
not know which quote character is used, one should only use the single
tick ' (again, as the SQL

I try to create a patch to allow (proxy-)dict to use tcp connections

Using MS-DOS client
Hi, all.
I know this is ancient history, but I have a couple of DOS machines that
host older device programming hardware. I've been able to access an older
version of Samba for years without incident. Last weekend I upgraded my
server to Ubuntu 18.04, which provides Samba 4.7.6. Unfortunately, after
hours of frustration I find I'm unable to connect from any of the older
machines.

sqlite patch
Hi,
http://plonk.de/sw/dovecot/dovecot.sqlite.4.diff
It uses sqlite3 and is not heavily tested, but it works quite fine here.
Have fun!

LDA Wishlist idea
Hi all,
Sorry if this is out of place, but I've seen people suggesting future
functionality for Dovecot on here before.
TBH I'm not completely sure if this would be possible in a LDA.
Demon (an ISP) have extensions to POP3 they call "SDPS" - there's
basically an extra command that can be called for an email and it gives
the envelope rcpt and from addresses. I was

1.0alpha5 released
We have now some new big features:
- Beginnings of dbox mailbox format. It should work, but if you happen
to delete/break index files, the mails aren't found again. So really not
a good idea to use it for more than testing.
- GSSAPI (Kerberos 5) support by Jelmer Vernooij with some fixes by
pod@herald.ox.ac.uk
- Added dictionary API to Dovecot, similar to what Postfix has. It can

tunnel iax via gnophone with ssh?
Hey all...I'm trying to use gnophone to connect to my asterisk box
behind my firewall..I thought I could just setup a tunnel with something
like ssh host.com -L5036:asteriskserver:5036 and just change my gnophone
to connect to localhost:5036 but I never see anything happen on the
asterisk server. I'm even trying this on the same network just in case
there is something funky with NAT.

[Flac-users] How do I encode a FLAC with tags?
So there are no command line options like in oggenc to do artist and
misc tags? Sure if you've got a solution that I don't have to do from

Thanks!

web-based playlist manager
Before I went out to potentialy reinvent this particular wheel, I figured
I'd check to see whether anyone had or could recommend a web-based playlist
manager for ices/icecast. The one I've got in mind would take requests,
play random tracks in the absence of requests, keep a very limited history
and look-ahead...
This must have been done before, right? If not, I'll take a stab at

Multiple MWI on a single phone?
Hey all...I'm trying to find a phone that will support multiple MWI so
that I can have a shared central phone with say 4 users who can see
visually that hey have messages waiting. Is there any phone that will do
this possibly by re-assigning a soft-button? Can the Polycoms do this
since those seem to be the phone of choice these days?
Thanks!

Just wondering if anyone could help with regarding the following. I have a
number of Linux servers within an NT domain and I can access all of them.
But I have a linux server behind our (raptor) firewall - samba has been

Vista and UNC solved
For those having problems with Vista, and unc paths showing up empty,
I can confirm that:
[global]
host msdfs = no
fixes the problem. This is on 3.0.24 with all patches. Note that I am
not using Dfs root shares or the like. YMMV
Hope this helps someone.
Cheers!
