Centos 6.6 procmail trouble
I have a 6.5 machine that had everything set up and working correctly (fetchmail, sendmail w/ starttls, procmail, spamassassin) but the MB cratered. I bought a new machine, and installed Centos 6.6 and all is not well. I used the config from the previous incarnation (via backups) for fetchmail (works fine), sendmail (works fine for sending via relay and tls), but procmail now refuses to pick up

OT: procmail recipe question
I'm trying to use procmail and I'm having trouble getting it to set some headers. I have one mailing list that sets ?Newsgroups: in the header and I want to remove it. I have the following test recipe: :0 * ^Subject:.*\<testing * ^(Mime-Version:|Content-) | formail -IMime-Version: -IContent- If I understand it correctly, it should remove the Mime-Verion and Content headers. Can't send mail through new server
I thought I had just about got the old server to the point of being switched off. I have been reading from the dovecot server for a couple of days, and this evening I switched the 'sending' to the new server as well - but I couldn't get anything out. I got: Error while uploading message Could not upload the message dated Wed Feb 1 21:2:56 2006 from Anne Wilson <cannewilson

Could not connect to host box.domain.tld
I have used fetchmail/procmail/postfix/dovecot/kmail for some time on my mail server, and have set this up on three or four machines in the past. I'm now setting up a new server and having problems. I've reached the thinking-in-circles stage, so need a prompt. The box in question is called borg2.lydgate.lan, and resides at 192.168.0.40. I can ping both borg2.lydgate.lan and

Vacation reply with Procmail and dovecot deliver
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Giving up on the sieve plugin and switching to procmail. I found the following link: http://wiki.dovecot.org/procmail This site doesn't saying anything about needing to modify the procmail source code like here: http://dovecot.org/pipermail/dovecot/2006-July/014656.html Thos shows how to make procmail work with dovecot deliver program. procmail --> deliver question
Hi there, I use dovecot-1.1-rc4, got imap, imaps, pop3 & pop3s working fine with the mbox format. I use sendmail-8.14.2 as an MTA, sendmail uses procmail as an LDA. I migrated to maildir format now, and pipe all my mail to deliver right now to be able to make use of the indexing etc... Problem is I run into some errors : #My .procmailrc PATH=/usr/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin

Maildir, procmail, and locks
I'm using procmail as the local delivery agent for Maildir style mailboxes. I discovered that I was able to send mail to other users but was unable to send mail to myself. procmail can't invoke spamc/spamassassin in 5.3 due to SElinux denials
I just discovered that my spam filters are not being properly executed in CentOS 5.3 because when procmail attempts to invoke spamc. I have spamd running properly, and can invoke spamassassin and spamc from the bash prompt manually without any issues, however procmail fails with "permission denied" then bails. Watching the procmail.log I get the following: procmail: Executing

CentOS 4.3/postfix/procmail lock failures
Hello, What is the proper solution to the problem below the sig? For a similar issue, Phillip Guenther, procmail's maintainer, at <http://article.gmane.org/gmane.mail.procmail/1623/match=error+writing+var+spool+mail> suggests "chmod g+s /usr/bin/procmail", but I'm reluctant. There are also suggestions that in this configuration the packager must make certain that

Random procmail filter failures.
Hi all, I'm seeing a random issue with my procmail filters (only on email from this list) where once every so often, it will fail to filter a message. I am sorting by the to/cc email address, and this rule works on 99.9% of posts, however every now and again, I see something like this happen: From centos-bounces at centos.org Sat Jan 5 01:57:28 2008 Subject: Re: [CentOS]

dovecot, procmail and deliver
(Using dovecot 1.0 RC7 on Fedora Core 5) <scene set> Hitherto we have used UW-IMAP on a "farm" of Linux machines mounting NFS from a NetApp. (The UW-IMAP author doesn't like use of NFS, but with careful use of NFS mount arguments ('noac,actimeo=0' etc.) and trying to ensure that all activity for a given user takes place within one machine in the farm, we seem to

problems with postfix->procmail->deliver
Hi all. I'm relatively new to Dovecot, but I really like what I'm seeing so far. I have one problem that I was hoping you could help me with though. I use Postfix for my mail server, then pass that on to procmail for filtering, and finally to deliver to put the mail in the appropriate Maildir folder. However, this isn't working. Postfix passes the mail to procmail correctly, but

Procmail/Formail problem on 6.3
Hi! In the process of making mysystem work again, having just done a reinstall of 6.3 x86_64. I have a considerable collection of procmail recipes for filtering mail in various ways, and since the upgrade none of 'em is working. procmail passes every mail thru spambayes, which gives back a rating on spamminess. this happens, so it's not as if procmail is simply punting. that is

procmail, and the care and feeding of mailing list content received
Some threads just go on too long. Personally I think a troll has hijacked the main centos list again and is inducing food fight behaviours while that troll perfectly 'innocently' asserting that it is just respoding to all email. see: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4216011961522818645 for a discussion of the problem of 'capture' in FOSS projects. But if one loses

per user procmail filtering and dovecot-lda
So I'm confused as to why you're piping back from procmail to dovecot LDA, rather than having procmail be the final LDA. Why not use: :0 w * ^List-ID:.*jenkinsci-dev.googlegroups.com mailing-lists/jenkinsci-dev/ (The trailing slash tells procmail that jenkinssci-dev is a maildir, not an mbox) Also, procmail is way out of date, no longer maintained, and there are "semi" known

Procmail with Dovecot
No need for user shell access. Before switching to sieve, I made some email interface where users could turn on 'services' by sending an email to themselves. -----Original Message----- To: dovecot at dovecot.org Subject: Re: Procmail with Dovecot On 13.10.20 11:08, Dan Egli wrote: > Hey folks, here's a question.
