mbox to maildir conversion - good idea regarding Outlook?
Hi list,
first of all, many thanks to the Dovecot authors for supplying an IMAP
server that works well with M$-Outlook! I have used UW-imapd for quite a
while and was annoyed by frequent "imap...timeout..." error messages.
Now I'd like to give maildir format a try because I want to use email
sub-folders. What are other Outlook users' experiences with maildir? Is
it as

Is it possible in any way to use an Outlook contacts database as the
source for the internal Asterisk database that is used for callerid
lookups?
Thanks!

Trying to populate dovecot with outlook contacts
Hello,
What the subject says.
I am trying, that is.
OK, here's the story.
Users very lazy. Don't want to write down their contact details
from scratch.
Here's what I thought :
migrate (export?) contacts from outlook to mozilla thunderbird.
Then find a way to make thunderbird "talk" to dovecot, so that
the latter can import the contact details from mozilla tb.
Any ideas ?

receive date wrong in outlook
hi,
we migrate from exchange to dovecot. we do it with imapsync. first we
try to do it with --syncinternaldates, but this fails on many messages
with invalid date, so we drop this option. unfortunately after this
those users who use outlook see the received date as the date we do the
migration in stead of the real received date. other clients eg webmail,
thunderbird etc sees the right date. so my

Replication of Samba 4.8 DC to 4.19 ?
I have a particular AD domain which, due to hardware- and OS-related issues,
is still at version 4.8.12.
It is finally possible to upgrade the system. If I add a new version 4.19 DC
to the domain, will it replicate correctly from version 4.8.12, or will I
need to upgrade in phases, from major version to major version?
The current DCs would then be removed from the domain and scrapped.
Any tips,

speex-1.2beta1 AEC garbles up audio unless compiled with --enable-fixed-point
Greetings everyone,
I was about to compare AEC performance between 1.1.12 and 1.2beta1 when
I noticed something.
If I configure (and compile) speex-1.1.12 with
./configure --enable-shared=no --enable-static=yes
it compiles and works as expected: I can run a mic and speaker signal
through testecho, it runs in a reasonable amount of time (about 23 secs
for 3 minutes of audio) and I get back

You could do it with some simple CDO or MAPI calls but the overhead would be
brutal and you'd never get the data in time unless you were running the CDO
or MAPI calls on a dedicated Exchange server. If the data doesn't

T.38 ITSP?
Has anyone found an ITSP that will relay T.38 fax to an asterisk 1.6.x
instance AND do it reliably? If so, I can think of a number of locations
with copper loops that could be scrapped. I'm actually quite surprised at
what an underwhelming number of ITSP's that say they support T.38 (zero so
far among my normal go-to companies).
For locations that just want to be able to send

Outlook XP on NT 4.0 Terminal Server Edition & Samba
To start with, I'd like to praise the entire Samba Team, Samba 2.2.3.a
compiled and installed perfected. I wish all vendors could do that good of
job. Great documentation too! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK.
Now that the "cheese" is over with...
I posted a problem the other day concerning the funtionality between Outlook
XP .PST files and Samba 2.2.2 & 2.0.7 on Solaris 2.6

speex-1.2beta1 AEC garbles up audio unless compiled with --enable-fixed-point
I'll try to make some shorter samples later, but for now here are the
ones I have tried with:

The original recordings are in mic.raw and spk.raw.

Using a TE405P to connect to an existing PBX
We originally purchased a TE405P so we could connect our Asterisk server
directly to the T1 PRI from our provider, however due to all the
problems reported with T1 PRI's interacting directly with Asterisk, we
scrapped that idea and decided to stick with our Cisco router making the
conversion to SIP.
Anyways, we found a new potential use for it. We have an old location
with an existing PBX,
