"undefined reference to `yes_storage'"
Well after the 'issues' with Compaq C, I decided to attempt compile using GCC-3.4.3... To put it short, that didn't fair well either. Will L G. [PATCH] ./configure fails to recognize alphapca56 (R-1.1.0)
I think I reported this bug in the past. At that time, I was told that it is a bug of autoconf. ./configure does not recognize Linux on DEC Alpha 21164PC (a cheap version of Alpha EV56), so all the compilation flags were set incorrectly. I don't know the right way to fix it (I don't know how autoconf works yet ...), but the following patch fixes the problem. Thank you, Naoki Naoki

Re: [R] Problem Compiling R-2.0.0 on Linux Alpha
Thanks, Prof. Ripley. I downloaded the new admin.R and used that in place of one in R-2.0.0 build directory. The compile went fine. So, for the record, R-2.0.0 + Prof. Ripley's fixed admin.R compiles fine on "alphapca56-unknown-linux-gnu". ---- [rajiv@localhost rajiv]$ R R : Copyright 2004, The R Foundation for Statistical Computing Version 2.0.0 (2004-10-04), ISBN

upgrading to 1.5.0/uninstalling 1.4.1 on Linux
Hi folks: I have a feeling this must be a FAQ, but I did not find the answer in R Installation and Administration manual. Please point me to the right place to look for answer to this question if it's already answered. I am running 1.4.1 on an Alpha PCA56 (aka 164SX) running Redhat Linux 7.1 (kernel 2.4.19-pre4). I built 1.4.1 from sources and it is installed in /usr/local (the

Samba newbie problems
Hi I have recently installed samba on a RH7.0 box. This box has win98 + linux rh7 installed and both os's are running well. The F drive on windows is FAT32 and is mounted r/w on linux RH7. Works fine. I also have a Win98se machine that needs to have full read/write access to some partitions on the RH7 box. Samba was found ideal for such setup. The problem I have is that I can't write to

when RedHat makes patches for only some versions
I guess this is really a RedHat, not CentOS question, but I?m hoping that someone here will be familiar enough with the upstream policy to have some useful information. How does RedHat decide which versions to release patches for, e.g. https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2015-7613 <https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2015-7613> which has only a RH7 erratum, not 6?
