DIGEST-MD5 doesn't work
Hi,
my dovecot installation works since months and clients authenticate
using CRAM-MD5. But today I got the first chance to test an client that
supports DIGEST-MD5 - and it doesn't work. Because of lack of other
supporting clients and servers I'm now at the point I don't know which
side is to blame.
The error I get after the client answers the servers challenge is "-ERR

Secure authentication?
I have enabled SSL support for my dovecot installation but if I enable secure authentication in my MUA, I get an
error from dovecot telling me that this is not supported..
Is this because dovecot does not support this or am I missing some config?
Regards,
BTJ

userdb/autdb via ldaps
Hello,
I'm using a OpenLDAP server to store mail users infos like maildir
location and password. This server is running on a separate machine and
I'd like to protect the connection to it by using SSL/TLS.
The server is configured so that it offers ldaps and it works with other
clients.
But I haven't found how to configure dovecot to use ldaps. Would someone

Count number of different patterns (Polytomous variable)
Hi there,
Does anyone know a method to calculate the number of different patterns
in a given data frame. The variables are of polytomous type and not
binary (for the latter i found a package called "countpattern" which
unfortunately only functions for binary variables).
V1 V2 V3
0 3 1
1 2 0
1 2 0
So, in this case, i would like to get "2" as output.
Thanks

How to use the paste function to create an already used variable
Hi there,
I have the following problem
Four data frames exist:
data1
data2
data3
data4
Now I want to write a loop and temporarily store the data1, data2,
data3, data4 in a variable called data.
I tried the following...
for (i in 1:4) {
Data <- paste("data",i,sep="")
...
..
}
but it doesn't function. I think the problem is the definition of the
mode of the pasted

mail_location and storage type
Hi,
I was setting up a new system for testing Dovecot 1.0. My old one is
using 0.99 and was set up quite a time ago, so I had to consult the
documentation.
I needed several attempts until it worked and that was because the
designated maildir directory /server/mail/jrg/Maildir was completely
empty. Upon login the server exited and wrote the following to the log:
POP3(jrg): Ambiguous mail location

dovecot ssl problem
Hi there,
I am having a weird problem with dovecot and ssl.
If I am accessing the dovecot imap server with for example sylpheed-claws or evolution, everything works fine. If it is accessed via windows either by outlook or thunderbird, we get occassional timeouts.
It's working fine for a few hours, then for 5 to 20 minutes, every attempt to connect from the outside results in "Connection

[LLVMdev] Compiling LLVM under vista with msdev 2008 gives a few errors
Hi,
I just started with LLVM so I'm not sure who's responsible for
portability. Anyways, I found the following problems trying to compile
llvm rev 94074 with the solution generated using cmake 2.8 (including
the clang front end) on 32bit vista:

[LLVMdev] pass case sensitive information to a llvm target backend
Hi,
we use the llvm to lower c++ code to c code which can be run through our
abstract interpretation framework
(based on CIL). Along with the c code we emit some structured text files
that contain the "lost" information
(class hierarchy, private/public attributes etc). In order to output
this information in a sensible way we need to pass unix paths and some

client cannot list subfolders
Hi,
I'm having a problem with the Sylpheed mail client and dovcot
1.0.rc15. Sylpheed does not like how dovecot is returning LIST output
so it cannot see subfolders.
Note: Sylpheed 2.4 actually works with the same server so apparently
something in a newer version of Sylpheed has changed.
This is some dialog with the Sylpheed mailing list:

[LLVMdev] Compiling LLVM under vista with msdev 2008 gives a few errors
Hi,
i had the same troubles on Vista and on Win7...
cmake fails on some tests (you should see this in the log) due to m$ UAC (or
whatever the name is) and uses not-so-sane default values.
You have to start a visual c-command prompt (to make sure it gets the right
paths) with administrator privileges (!) , than cmake works fine and you get
a correct config.h.
best regards,

sylpheed email client oddity
With the Sylpheed email client:
Compose a message
Click the button to attach a file to that message
Attach a file
Save the message to draft
Compose another message
Click the button to attach a file to that message
With Sylpheed 2.5.0 on Fedora 10 I see the directory containing the file that I
attached when composing the first message, which is what I expect to see.
With sylpheed-2.0.4-0.el5.rf

immediate delete of mails
Hello,
most imap clients don't delete mails immediately, instead they are marked as deleted and expunged a few days or weeks later.
From Sylpheed docs / Interface tab: https://sylpheed.sraoss.jp/doc/manual/en/sylpheed-8.html
? If Execute immediately when moving or deleting messages is not selected, a new button appears in the button bar marked Execute. When deleting or moving messages,

Question
It is quite simple but highly relevant to me ;-) I was looking for the
icecast protocol specifications/documentations but all I could find
where documentations of applications how to build or configure them. I'm
interested in some Java implementation of a audio streaming client,
therefor I was looking for some info about the protocol.
Please -- where can I find information?

Email access via Android device
I'm pretty sure that this is possible, but I don't currently know enough about
email to know where to start.
My main desktop computer runs Centos 6 and my preferred email client is
Sylpheed, which supports both POP and IMAP email, and my "internal network" has
a static IP address, so getting access to the computer from the big scary world
via my phone isn't a problem.

Define a glm object with user-defined coefficients (logistic regression, family="binomial")
Hi there,
I just don't find the solution on the following problem. :(
Suppose I have a dataframe with two predictor variables (x1,x2) and one
depend binary variable (y). How is it possible to define a glm object
(family="binomial") with a user defined logistic function like p(y) =
exp(a + c1*x1 + c2*x2) where c1,c2 are the coefficents which I define.
So I would like to do no

Using R in C++
Hello,
Is it possible to use R functions (in my case: ks.test()) from C++

is there any possibility to do the opposite? Where can I find help?
