Dovecot stops logging of imap logins after logrotation
Hi list, on my Debian box there is a logrotation cron job that will gzip existing /var/log/mail.log file and create a new mail.log. It seems that after running logrotation dovecot stops logging successful POP or IMAP logins to /var/log/mail.log (nevertheless, it still works to login with POP or SMTP). This is bad because pop-before-smtp mechanisms also stop working. I have deactivated

mbox to maildir conversion - good idea regarding Outlook?
Hi list, first of all, many thanks to the Dovecot authors for supplying an IMAP server that works well with M$-Outlook! I have used UW-imapd for quite a while and was annoyed by frequent "imap...timeout..." error messages. Now I'd like to give maildir format a try because I want to use email sub-folders. What are other Outlook users' experiences with maildir? Is it as

Hi @all, does anyone know how many ip adresses as aliases and vifs may assign to a single DomU? At the moment it seems for me that ~ 30 ip adresses are max. Virtual IP Adresses and SIP requests failing...
Hey All: Question; when using a virtual IP on an Asterisk server, I am having trouble getting sip user to register to the ViP. They are able to register with the true IP, just not the virtual. It seems Asterisk is rejecting the SIP invite, register, etc (like it's not destined for this server) I've added all the IP's to the domain listing in sip.conf and in the Asterisk console a

DNS and Reverse Adresses
Hi, I do have a domain and a couple of different ip networks. E.g. domainname.de and 172.17.0.0/16 and 192.168.200.0/24 In our old dns files I only have a reverse master zone for the 172.17.-lans, but also 192.168.200.x addresses in the forward zone config. My question: dose maybe someone forgot the 192.168.200.x reverse zone files and config and can I just create a file like that for the

Many 64bit locks failed on HPUX 11.00/32
Hi Samba Team, I tried samba 2.2.8a (without winbind) on HPUX 11/32. I downloaded the binaries from http://de.samba.org/samba/ftp/Binary_Packages/hp/samba-2.2.8a/ I get following errors: [2003/06/27 10:16:50, 0] locking/posix.c:(658) an Invalid argument error. This can happen when using 64 bit lock offsets [2003/06/27 10:16:50, 0] locking/posix.c:(659) on 32 bit NFS mounted file systems.

New Provider, Multiple Dynamic Adresses.
I am changing provider. The new provider gives out five public dynamic IP-adresses. Is there anyway to get a Shorewall-box to snag more then one IP-address, and then proxy-arp? I''m guessing that the answer is "No", but hey, you never know. Is there any other way that I could actually use my additional IP''s for my internal systems, and still use Shorewall for

Help troubleshooting "find_domain_master_name_query_fail" on SMB v4?
I'm running smbd -V Version 4.1.0rc2-3.1-3075-SUSE-oS12.3-x86_64 This is a standalone server, and the only SMB/CIFS instance on my LAN. On launch, I see the following "find_domain_master_name_query_fail" error in logs. I can't track down what I've managed to do wrong; pointers appreciated. ==> log.nmbd <== [2013/09/07 16:21:41, 2]

Hello! Yesterday I upgraded from 1.0beta3 to 1.0beta4. I've major problems now with my inbox (quite large, 900MB) and another large folder. Thunderbird 1.5 connects and disconnects. Possible to have Email-Adresses as logins?
Hi, we want to set up a samba-server with an ldap-backend (so far no problem, got this running already) but want the users to login to workstations using their email-address instead of a "normal" login-name. I already figured out that i cannot add unix users with an "@" in their login neither via "useradd" nor via "smbldap-useradd", so i was thinking about

FW: Bonding & xenbr0
Hi Gerhard; I'm pretty new to this list too but I think this may be a bonding issue. What bonding mode are you using in /etc/modprobe.conf? You should have a couple of lines in there: alias bond0 bonding options bond0 miimon=x mode=x What kind of switch are you connecting to and have you done any specific configuration to the switch to support your bonding mode? (depends on the mode).
