SSH1 security with Kerb5
Hi, I am trying to decide if it is worth the time to test the Kerberos support in a port I am working on of Openssh 3.5p1. Does using Kerb5 with SSH1 solve the security problems inherent in protocol 1 and bring it up to par with the security level of SSH2 or are there other issues that Kerb5 authentication won't help for SSH1? Thanks, Greg Lambert --------------------------------- Do

Kerb5 Support?
Hey, I just subscribed to this list, so apologies in advance if this has been asked already (although I haven't found mention in the archives after a cursory search). I notice that there's no Kerb5 support in 2.3.0p1. Is anyone working on getting support in there for v1 and v2 connections, or is this something I'm going to have to do myself? Also, I've just

openssh-2.3.0p1, Krb5 and rdist
Krb5-authentication and Kerb5-TGT-passing is working well with openssh-2.3.0p1. Question: Is there a solution using rdist -P "/usr/local/bin/ssh" without the need for RhostRSAAuthentication, RSAAuthentication or using the Kerberos r-command set? The objective is to do away with ".rhosts/.shost" and private-key authentication when Kerberos authentication is already in

Samba 3 PDC and ADS member server
I've been reading some documentation and can't find an answer to my question... I work in an environment where we have a bunch of Solaris 2.8 servers and a bunch of developers using Windows 2000 and XP desktops. We support a client using a Windows 2000 Server ADS PDC, and they need to map some of the NFS drives on our Solaris 2.8 servers. Currently we run a PCNetLink PDC (don't worry

Linux NIS/NFS/Samba server bound to Active Directory
Hello all! We are currently testing the implementation of a multi-use server at my work. I am working with a Windows 2003 RC2 domain controller, and a CentOS 5 NIS/NFS/Samba server. I've followed various how-to's and researched several errors during the past sixteen hours working on this but all things I try seem to come back with empty results. I

cross-realm spnego issue in 3.0.2rc1
Hi, I just installed 3.0.2rc1 for testing, and I came across a problem with cross-realm authentication. I joined samba to our active directory domain, and I can see that it has host and cifs principals in windows kerberos. Our organization's primary kerberos realm (CEDE.PSU.EDU) is an MIT kerb5 realm, and we have a one-way non-transitive trust such that windows (server 2003) kerberos

Problems with Krb5/GSSAPI patches in FBSD 4.3
Hi, I am trying to impliment OpenSSH v2.9p1 with the Krb5/GSSAPI patches at: http://www.sxw.org.uk/computing/patches/openssh-2.9p1-gssapi.patch On a FreeBSD 4.3-STABLE system (with both the integrated Heimdal libs and the MIT Krb5 package from ports intstalled). I patched the src tree, reconfigured, recompiled, installed, and it works - except for Krb5 passwords or Krb5 tickets. And I really

GSS/Kerb5, Solaris 10, how to build?
Gang, I've been trying to build rc29 under Solaris 10 using either "--with-gssapi" or Kerberos 5 ticket usage. I'm trying to figure out how to set up fetchmail on another S10 box to do IMAP fetches from dovecot without having to enter a password. No matter what configure option I try, I get Building with GSSAPI support ........ : no at the end of the configure. I searched

Process hanging on 6.0-STABLE
Hi, I work for a small company that makes radar systems for research organisations and we use FreeBSD on the PCs for data acquisition and processing. We have recently shifted to FreeBSD6/amd64 and one machine in particular is exhibiting a strange problem. The acquisition process is a Tcl interpreter with a largish chunk of C code which talks to the hardware (via RS485 and a custom PCI card).

[ANNOUNCE] sessreg 1.1.0
sessreg is used by display managers such as xdm and gdm to record X sessions in utmp, wtmp, and lastlog files. This release attempts to clean up some inconsistencies around the handling of the various files. Long long ago, Unix systems had a utmp file to record who was currently logged in, and a wtmp file to record login history. Long ago, extended versions of the files & APIs for them were

Help needed in simulating libvirt
Hi All, I'm need to simulate libvirt API's say to mock the libvirt API responses. (Actually I need to simulate qemu API's response). Because of my project needs I need to write this simulated libvirt server in Java. I believe the simulated libvirt can be written as java RPC which should capable to receive the client RPC request calls and by dispatcher we can dispatch to the
