Solaris 9 --with-krb5 problems
Hi,
I am running configure with the option --with-krb5=/opt/local which is
where I have heimdal installed. The problem is that after running make,
it still tries to use the include files from SUN that are in /usr/ and this
screws up the compile.
I can compile samba just fine using --without-krb5.
I have already tried:
setenv CFLAGS "-L/opt/local/lib"
setenv CPPFLAGS

GSSAPI
If I am trying to build OpenSSH 6.6 with Kerberos GSSAPI support, do I still need to get Simon Wilkinson's patches?

Squirrelmail - messages not marked as read
As of test-60 and test-61, running Squirrelmail 1.5.1[cvs] on
FreeBSD 5.3-STABLE, messages are not marked as read after they
are read.
If I switch back to test-59, it works normally.
When switching back to test-59, with log_path = /var/log/dovelog
dovelog shows:

Using dovecot auth with Postfix
Attempting to setup smtpd auth for Postfix using the Dovecot authorization
unix socket.
Some info is at: http://www.postfix.org/SASL_README.html
To enable operation when Postfix is chrooted, a method from the
reference above is to locate the socket at: /var/spool/postfix/private/auth
To do this, I have this configuration in dovecot.conf:
# listener sockets will be created by Dovecot's

Bug in Kerberos support for openssh.
It took me a while to track this down. I am using MIT Kerberos 1.4.3
and libgssapi-0.7. With some patches that came with Suse 10, but that
doesn't appear to be relevant. I have been using openssh-4.2p1 (with
Simon's patches) and openssh-4p3p2 out of the box. I see the same
problem no matter which version of openssh I am using. I am using two
Suse Linux x86 boxes as a test

Samba 3.0.0 compile problems (with gssapi headers)
Hello,
I have a compile problem concerning samba-3.0.0 (final) with gssapi on a
Solaris 9 machine. I don't know how to fix this, so any suggestions are
welcome.
Situation:
We use LDAP to authenticate logins of a group of users, so I want to use
this LDAP directory also from samba. (Openldap-2.1.22 was compiled with
BerkeleyDB.4.1, heimdal-0.6 kerberos, and cyrus-sasl-2.1.13).

http://dovecot.org/releases/1.2/alpha/dovecot-1.2.alpha5.tar.gz.sig
It's been a while since alpha4 so I thought I'd release a new one while
waiting for Apple's patches..
 - mbox fixes.
 - Lots of Solr fixes
 - Virtual mailboxes + Solr works now nicely instead of duplicating the
indexed data.
 - Added alias_for setting

this is the proposed gssapi diff against OpenSSH-current (non-portable).
note: if this goes in, the old krb5 auth (ssh.com compatible) will be
removed.

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Hi,
Attached is a patch against current CVS that adds support for the
GSSAPI SASL mechanism. It was written from scratch, after reading the
patch from Colin Walters against a much older version of dovecot.
Other then support for the 'GSSAPI' mechanism, it contains the
following changes:
- - Added 'auth_krb5_keytab' option for

Running dovecot-lda
Hi,
I'm planning on setting up dovecot with dovecot-lda, for sieve
support. What does the list have to say about versions to use? I
prefer stability over features but sieve has to be there.
Does anybody use the combination dovecot 1.0 alpha5 and dovecot-lda
0.1 with success or would you recommend running -lda from CVS? If so,
is there any point in time that's better than another?

GSSAPI Authentication Broke with Dovecot 1.1.16 -> 1.2.4 Upgrade
This morning I upgraded a dovecot installation from 1.1.16 to 1.2.4 on a
FreeBSD 7.2 server, and then spent 3 hours trying to figure out why
GSSAPI authentication had broken.
It turned out to be a recent change in Dovecot's mech-gssapi.c to do
with checking for NULs in usernames: everything worked fine when I
disabled that test.

mbox snarf plugin + idle
I'm having a problem with mbox snarf not looking at /var/spool/mail/
when in idle mode thus never giving me a RECENT line even though there
are new messages in /var/spool/mail/ . Here are the imap commands to
reproduce the problem:
1 login userid password
2 select inbox
3 idle
When I run "select inbox" it does see my messages in /var/spool/mail/
and moves them over fine.

Polynomial Regression parameter estimation in R?

Here is an "Orthogonal Polynomial" Regression problem
collected from Draper, Smith(1981), page 269. Note

inotify.h not found
Hi,
dovecot (1.0.alpha5) won't compile with inotify support because
inotify.h can't be found. I'm running Linux 2.6.15-rc5 with headers
from 2.6.12 (like most vendors). I've noticed that beagle and other
inotify-enabled applications ships with an inotify.h. Could this be
scheduled for alpha6? :-)
