Hi,
I am new to dovecot and have just got it up and running on mandrake
8.2. Dovecot seems to be running OK, I can telnet in and log in and
Mail on OS X will get the folder list but if a client selects a mail
box I get an error back. I cannot find any help anywhere on the errors
I'm getting so I hope this is the right place to ask. Please see the
log file below. Any clues to the problem

Corrupted index problem when disk quota exceeded
Hi!
I should report yet another problem with dovecot index files. Suppose
we have
a user with his filesystem disk quota exceeded. He logins via POP3 or
IMAP to
remove some mail messages and fix this problem. When he logins for the
first time,
everything works fine, and he can read and remove something. But if his
disk
quota is still exceeded when he logs out, he cannot login any more.

problems connecting to the Problems connecting to mysql
Hi,
I'm trying to setup a mailserver running postfix and dovecot with mysql
as database backend. Postfix is already running and delivers mails just
fine. Unfortunately, dovecot has great problems connecting to the
database (using username + password).
Found that two threads about the same issue but none of them solves the
problem

passdb-pam: PAM_RHOST on FreeBSD >= 5.0 (where PAM != Linux-PAM)
This is actually something I had on my mind to write about in the past
few -stable and alpha releases, but did not get to and instead always
patched myself. Now having updated to the latest snapshot (which may
be released as beta1), I stumbled on it again:
In src/auth/passdb-pam.c, where the client host is passed to PAM, the
code looks like this:
#ifdef PAM_RHOST
const char *host =

http://dovecot.org/releases/1.2/alpha/dovecot-1.2.alpha5.tar.gz
http://dovecot.org/releases/1.2/alpha/dovecot-1.2.alpha5.tar.gz.sig
It's been a while since alpha4 so I thought I'd release a new one while
waiting for Apple's patches..
- mbox fixes.
- Lots of Solr fixes
- Virtual mailboxes + Solr works now nicely instead of duplicating the
indexed data.
- Added alias_for setting

- deliver was crashing.
- Saving messages with maildir accessed freed memory, which might have
caused crashes.
- Index files are now never marked as

Missing mailboxes after migration from Maildir -> mdbox
I migrated from existing dovecot Maildir to dbox.
After adding separator to the namespace it migrated all Inbox mails, but
the other mailboxes like user-created ones and "Junk", "Sent" and so on
has not been migrated.
Any advice would be helpful, here is my dovconf:

Running dovecot-lda
Hi,
I'm planning on setting up dovecot with dovecot-lda, for sieve
support. What does the list have to say about versions to use? I
prefer stability over features but sieve has to be there.
Does anybody use the combination dovecot 1.0 alpha5 and dovecot-lda
0.1 with success or would you recommend running -lda from CVS? If so,
is there any point in time that's better than another?

Hi,
I'm trying to build dovecot from snapshot dovecot-20051215.tar.gz on
OpenSolaris Nevada build 28.
I have added to the PATH directories for make, gcc and automake/autoconf

$ export PATH=/opt/sfw/bin:/usr/ccs/bin:/usr/sfw/bin:$PATH
then executed

$ aclocal
$ libtoolize --force
$ automake --add-missing
$ autoheader
$ autoconf

And then make finished with

find_by_sql + partials question
Ok now that I have find_by_sql love working for my "Top 10 List" I
want to make them a bit more DRY. Tis is what I have so far:
Model:
def self.topfish
find_by_sql["select species.name,
length,species.multiplier*length as score,caught_on from entries join
species on species_id = species.id where species_id = ? order by
score DESC LIMIT 10", species]

I am having a problem compiling R versions 1.6.1 or .16.2 on a Solaris 8

Re: Error testing deploying Grizzly
I believe the error indicates that hiera was installed as a rubygem which
is not supported on Puppet 3.x. Maybe the error will go away if you remove
the hiera gems?
I think I have gotten around it by adding ''require rubygems'' to the puppet
executable.
I''m copying the puppet-users mailing list b/c I am guessing this is a
common problem.

mbox snarf plugin + idle
I'm having a problem with mbox snarf not looking at /var/spool/mail/
when in idle mode thus never giving me a RECENT line even though there
are new messages in /var/spool/mail/ . Here are the imap commands to
reproduce the problem:
1 login userid password
2 select inbox
3 idle
When I run "select inbox" it does see my messages in /var/spool/mail/
and moves them over fine.
