fast bind patch for ldap passwords
All, I'm not sure if I sent this in yet or not. Basically it works like this: if you set "fast_bind = yes" it overrides auth_bind. And requires that you set userdn. Example config: fast_bind = yes userdn = cn=%u,ou=people,o=dovecot I'm using the patch right now on the cvs head branch. Comments are welcome. Geff -------------- next part -------------- A non-text

fastbind patch -> auth_bind_userdn patch (attached)
Let me know how you like this one. This assumes one config parameter. The non-null of auth_bind_userdn overrides auth_bind = yes. I'm using this patch now on cvs head. Comments are always welcome. Thanks much, Geff -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... Name: dovecot.patch.auth_bind_userdn Type: application/octet-stream Size: 4607 bytes Desc: not

LDAP authentication stops working...
Hi all, I'm running dovecot-1.0.rc17 on OpenBSD 3.9, using userdb and passdb methods of "ldap" (SSL on 636/tcp) in addition to "passwd". Occasionally (generally after a few hours of operation, but not always), LDAP-based logins stop working (e.g. hang/timeout after POP3 PASS command). Accounts with local passwords (as opposed to accounts with a password field of

LDAP authenticated bind support
Recently at Better.be we implemented LDAP authenticated bind support for dovecot. A patch against CVS HEAD is attached. I have not tested it against all possible configurations one can use, but the basic operation seems to be right. As documented in the patch, it adds one new option to the dovecot-ldap.conf configuration file: # Set "auth_bind" to "yes" if you want to use

dovecot and ldaps://
Hi all, I've managed to get dovecot running with ldaps (ssl over port 636, not starttls). Btw, it's working right only if i specify "TLSVerifyClient never" in my slapd.conf. With any other parameter (like "TLSVerifyClient demand"), the bind fails with: connection_get(12) connection_get(12): got connid=0 connection_read(12): checking for input on id=0 TLS trace:

1.0 beta1 released
As promised, here it is finally. v1.0 is getting nearer and I want people to start looking at Dovecot's sources. Getting some more help with development would be nice, but I'd also like to hear if there are any hidden bugs in the code. So, one week from now I'll start offering 1000 EUR for the first person to point out a remotely exploitable security hole in Dovecot. See

plot(): I want to display dates on X-axis.
Hi, I want to display dates on my x-axis of the plot. I was trying to use plot() command for the same and passing the values in following manner: The variable "dat" is a data frame. The first column has numeric values and second column has date. e.g. dat [,1] dat[,2] [1,] 300 20060101 [2,] 257

R/S-related projects on Sourceforge? Trove Categorization
Hi R-Users and Developers, Several months ago I made a request on Sourceforge to add the R/S - programming language to the _Trove_ categorization. samba with acl support as member auf a samba controlled domain?
Hi I am running a Samba PDC and a Samba member server in his domain. The member server acts as a file server with unix acl's working. Is it possible to get these acl's working under samba to? The docs seem to say, that acl's are only possible if samba is a memberserver in an NT-Domain using winbind. In my case the PDC acts as a LDAP Server and the Member server is gets the unix

Profiles updates...
Hi, I have a little problem with my profiles... When a user creates a new file; it correctly appears in its profile on the server when the profile is saved. But, when he deletes a file; it is not deleted from its profile on the server. In the mean time, he can connect to his profile folder on the server and delete them manualy... Any idea what could be the problem? I looked at the logs (lvl 1)

samba 4.4.14 breaks classic domain
Good catch. I had set server max protocol to NT1 after upgrading from samba 3.x to 4.x . Some windows clients had problems with SMB2 and file shares (tho this should not really be an issue with the domain controllers.) I have now set the dc's to server max protocol = SMB2 server min protocol = NT1 and the client machine to be client max protocol = SMB2
