Migration problems from Courier-Imap
Hi, I'm migrating from Courier-Imap to Dovecot-Imapd and I have some problems.. I don't want to change the IMAP folders, so I wish to have Dovecot's compatibility with Courier's IMAP folders. In the Dovecot configuration I configured this: namespace private { separator = . prefix = INBOX. inbox = yes } Dovecot correctly shows me the INBOX folder, but doesn't show me the

mutt and dovecot
Hi, I setup squirrelmail with dovecot and everything worked. I moved users Maildir directores to ~/Maildir/INBOX.directory/ and updated the .subscriptions file to something like ^INBOX.directory squirrelmail picks this up, but I can't seem to get mutt to read this style. In fact I would have assumed that dovecot would read ~/Maildir/ as INBOX and everything under it as it stands, without

Migrating from courier-imap to dovecot
Hello Gang, I am new to dovecot and the only reason (so far) I would like to use dovecot, and in production with 12k+ users, is the fact that it's supposed to be faster and less of a resource hog. Now, sometimes I am really good at reading the documentations but it sometimes happens that one overlooks something. I did read the migration notes three times! My users are in /etc/passwd and I

Courier-imap + dovecot simultaneously?
Hi everyone, I have a client I've been trying to talk into switching from courier to dovecot, but the owner of the company wants me to set up two different accounts in Thunderbird (I finally got him switched to that from outlook express), one accessing his account through courier, and one through dovecot, so he can compare the speed... Is this even possible? I've never tried it

courier mail for Centos
Are there existing rpms for courier mta? I am working from: http://www.howtoforge.com/virtual-users-and-domains-with-postfix-courier-mysql-and-squirrelmail-fedora-14-x86_64 And am making progress with postfix and mysql, but looking ahead to other steps. I see squirrelmail is in EPEL.

IMAP: Get rid of non-existent folders below INBOX
Hi, I am using Debian Sarge w/ dovecot-imapd package 0.99.14-1. Squirrelmail created three folders below INBOX, Drafts/Sent/Trash, that I already had elsewhere. Thus, I deleted them (through SqM). However, both Thunderbird and Squirrelmail still show these folders anyway. When I select them, I keep getting "Mailbox does not exist" errors. I already tried to move all .imap.index* files

imap and vpopmail: per-domain auth
Hi, i have qmail + vpopmail + dovecot + squirrelmail 0.99.14 on Fedora Core 4. Qmail includes its own pop3 server, and everybody is able to access it from outside. Dovecot is used only locally by SquirrelMail - so everybody can access via webmail. I'd like to make imap directly available from outside, but only for a few selected domains (NOT ip addresses!), while leaving everyone able to

converting from courier-imap
Hello. I apologize if there is a simple answer to this question, but I haven't been able to figure it out. Our people use various clients (pine 4.50 with maildir patch, eudora, messenger, outlook, squirrelmail), and all of them work with courier-imap. But I've become very interested in dovecot after reading about it, so I'm trying it out on another server. The results are mixed.

courier to dovecot migration
I have a quite old home server based on Debian 6.x packages using courier imap server (exim4, fetchmail, courier, apache2, squirrelmail) to keep my and my wife emails (about 25G). I want renew my server to Debian 10 (buster) and got a recommendation to use dovecot instead of courier. For this purpose I'm using a different PC as a sandbox. Debian 10 currently offer dovecot version 2.3.4.1

dovecot IMAP misserving problem?
http://togami.com/~warren/archive/2003/evolution-1.4.4-crash.mbox I suspect that dovecot-0.99.10 is misserving this message in some way that is confusing some IMAP clients. This behavior causes evolution-1.4.4 to segfault, and squirrelmail-1.4.1 to be unable to read the message. The same message served by uw-imapd works works fine in both evolution and squirrelmail.

Postfix + MySQL + IMAP + Squirrelmail + Virtual Domains + Web Management.
Greetings, I have long read and followed this list. I have also spent a considerable time with our good friend Google. I am a long time Sendmail user, about 15 yrs now. I have recently been looking into the newer services and the Postfix setup seems to be a very nice one. I am migrating a mail server from 3.x to 4.x and was intending on trying out Postfix on the 4.x server. I have found

converting from courier questions
I currently run postfix and courier on my mail servers with squirrelmail. The problem with courier is it seems to run so slow. The webmail takes forever to load if you have many mails. I have this set up in virtual domains with all longin and path info in an mysql database. I just joined the list and DID google before asking, hope this isn't a common question. With courier it looks for a

replacing Courier imapd
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi folks, I currently use courier imapd, exim and ldap on my mail box. There are no users on this box, all info is taken from the ldap server. I note that dovecot does not use ldap as a backend, but curious if this in on the cards, or even mysql backend. Sean - -- Sean Rima http://www.tcob1.net Linux User:

Message size incorrect?
Hi there, I recently installed a plugin for SquirelMail (php imap client, squirrelmail.org) which adds up message sizes per folder to display a nice total size of each subscribed folder. After consulting the plugin maintainers at SquirrelMail in this thread: http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.mail.squirrelmail.plugins/12468/focus=12468 There is quite a discrepancy in the rfc822.size reported by

syncing imap servers with imapsync
hello list, I am attempting to sync two imap servers using the imapsync perl script. It seems handy and easy. Here's what happens when I try to do this: # # Postfix master process configuration file. For details on the format # of the file, see the master(5) manual page (command: "man 5 master"). # -o smtpd_sasl_auth_enable=yes # -o

pop vs. imap inconsistancy
I am converting from courier and have noticed change in behaviour with Dovecot. I use maildirs with squirrelmail connecting by imap as well as a POP3 client. Courier would set the 'mail status-read' flag for any message which was downloaded with the POP3 interface. Dovecot apparently does not. Is this a bug or intended behaviour? If it is intentional, can it be changed with the config

Migrating shared folders from courier-imap to dovecot
Hi, I'm hoping you'll be able to help. I'm working on a project to migrate our users from a courier-imap (4.3.0) based mail server to a dovecot (2.0.8) mail server. I have got all the users migrated and working. However, I can't see how to migrate the shared folders from courier-imap. I have tried to find extra information all the migration information seems to centre around a
