Quota stored in LDAP
Hie folks,
Does anyone have any experiences using dovecot + per user quota + ldap?
I've configured my settings as this example:
# quotaStorage must be in the format mentioned above
# For example: dirsize:storage=10240
user_attrs = uid,homeDirectory,,,uidNumber,gidNumber,quotaStorage=quota
But, Dovecot isn't creating maildirsize file.
Any guesses?

Questions regarding quota
Hi,
I have some trouble trying to test the quota plugin.
First off all, it says in the wiki: "Dovecot 1.0 supports quota using a
quota plugin. It's currently discussed in Dovecot LDA page and it
supports only very simple quota calculation which is suitable only for
mboxes. Maildir++ quota support will come later."
Does that mean that it won't work at all with Maildir++, or

Losing messages
Hi,
I have been running dovecot cvs happily for.. well.. very, very long
now. Don't remember when I switched from 0.99, but it was back in the
test-days, long before the alpha's. Anyway, it seems to have been
working very well all the time. But recently three of my clients have
claimed to have lost mail when moving from Thunderbird. I even
experienced it myself once. I'm using

Problems with dual ldap auth
Hi,
I can't seem to figure this out. Is it impossible to use two different
ldap auth? It works if I use one ldap and one pam, but I do need to use
ldap for both. This is from my config:
auth default {
mechanisms = plain
passdb ldap {
args = /etc/dovecot/ldap-virtual.conf
}
passdb ldap {
args = /etc/dovecot/dovecot-ldap.conf
}

Filesystem quota
Hi,
I've seen you commited a lot of quota work tonight. I'm still unable to
get the filesystem quota working, and I wonder if it's just me that is
stupid, or if theres a bug somewhere.
I enable quota and imap_quota plugins, I set fs in my ldap-base for
quota, and logons. I then get this:
dovecot: imap(ingvild): fs quota add storage dir = /home/ingvild/Maildir
dovecot: imap(ingvild):

Question about acls
Hi,
Is it possible to have a maildir-folder with an acl letter "i", but not
"r"? I mean, the folder always seems empty for the user, but he can copy
mail there? (which of course might be readable for another user..)

Dovecot 1.2, quota and LDAP
Hi!
I'm in the progress of upgrading from Dovecot 1.0.15 to 1.2.1. This has
gone pretty smooth. I just have one question to check wether I have
understood the documentation right.
I have both system users and virtual users. That's easy to do when using
LDAP for userdb. The system users use filesystems quota, the virtual
users use maildir quota. I achieved this using the following in

major pop3+ldap problem with alpha3 and alpha4
hi,
For some of our customers we provide a pop3 access, and after an upgrade
to alpha3, it is not working anymore.
All of our data is ldap based and everything is working as before for
our IMAP customers, but our POP3 users fail.
Obviously the pop3 login process does not read the data correctly that
comes from ldap.
after enabling mail_debug, I saw the following error in our log:

"sieve: failed to store into mailbox 'Junk': Read-only mbox" over root_squashed NFS, lmtp : euid/egid set and access() don't mix together for me
Hi,
I try to migrate an old fashioned mailsystem to Debian 9.7 / dovecot
2.2.7. I "have" to cope with mbox for now. I try to get rid of Sun OS
5.9 sendmail before mbox to mdbox migration (I'm fine if you laugh
loudly ^^). Intended setup : 2 VM with exim (smtp in, smtp out roughly),
3 VM with dovecot (mbox, maildir, testbed), 1 VM with IMAP proxy and
LMTP proxy.

Changin password in LDAP
We are using now dovecot 2.0.21 with open-ldap, but this situations has already taken a quite long time. When user changes the password, we have to reload dovecot every time, otherwise the change is ignored and dovecot sees only the old password. Any ideas where the problem might exist?

Dovecot Quota + LDAP
Hie Folks,
I'm having a little problem with quota + ldap. I want to use per user
quota settings.
So I configured quota on my /etc/dovecot.conf like this site
http://wiki.dovecot.org/Quota examples.
Here follows my /etc/dovecot.conf:
protocols = imap imaps pop3 pop3s
ssl_disable = no
ssl_cert_file = /usr/share/ssl/certs/cert.pem
ssl_key_file = /usr/share/ssl/private/pkey.pem

v2.1 supports now multiple LDAP fields in a template e.g.:
user_attrs = \
homeDirectory=home, \
uidNumber=uid, \
gidNumber=gid, \

which is the same as:
user_attrs = \

=gid=%{ldap:gidNumber}, \
=mail=%{ldap:mailboxFormat}:%{ldap:homeDirectory}

Problem with default_mail_env in beta9
Hallo,
I am playing arround with dovecot
I hat version 1.0.beta7 running fine. After installing beta9 there is a problem with default_mail_env setting.
I have all users in ldap.
there is an attribute "mailMessageStore" which contains a relative path to users maildir
mailMessageStore: sca/
my mailer completes this relative pathinformation to /var/mail/sca/
therefor I setup
