Is it possible to regenerate the index files?
Is it possible to regenerate the index files, on other conditions than the mbox file being read? For instance, it would be nice if I could regenerate the index for a specific mbox whenever procmail delivers mail to it. If theres no existing solution, would it be possible to make a small script with something like "nc" that could send an imap command to dovecot, so that dovecot would

index file regeneration?
Quick question: How does dovecot keep the message headers index file updated? Eg: if my MDA delivers an extra 10 messages while I'm logged in. How does the message index get updated? At what points is it regenerated? Thanks, Paul

Constant regeneration of /etc/ssh/ssh_known_hosts
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I''ve created an ssh_keys class that just makes sure that all my Puppet managed hosts get the same set of hosts keys using the "sshkey" type. I also am starting to play with OSSEC HIDS which is a host based intrusion detection system. OSSEC HIDS has been letting me know that the MD5 and SHA1 hashes of /etc/ssh/ssh_known_hosts has

wierd ssl-parameters.dat regeneration error
I just had a strange problem with my Dovecot 1.0 installation. After about two weeks, it logged these messages: dovecot: Error: ssl-build-param: rename(/usr/local/var/lib/dovecot/ssl-parameters.dat.tmp, /usr/local/var/lib/dovecot/ssl-parameters.dat) failed: No such file or directory dovecot: Error: child 30689 (ssl-build-param) returned error 89 And thereafter, all

DTMF regeneration on PRI
Hello everyone, I'm having problems with DTMF regeneration on my incoming PRI. I see that when the calling party transmits a DTMF digit, it gets generated at my end at a slower rate. Normally this would not be a problem, but several of these calling party are alarm control panels that send DTMF digits at a pretty fast clip and require that the DTMF timing be left intact. I noticed that

ssl-params regeneration with dovecot 2.2.7
Hello, after switching from version 2.2.7 to 2.2.7 I miss the loglines which say: ssl-params: Generating SSL parameters ssl-params: SSL parameters regeneration completed The configuration has not been changed and reads: | # 2.2.7: /usr/local/dovecot/etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf | # OS: Linux 2.6.35.14-106.fc14.i686.PAE i686 Fedora release 14 (Laughlin) ext3 | auth_mechanisms = plain login |

"Invalid KEX record length" during SPTPS key regeneration and related issues
Hi, I'm currently trying to troubleshoot what appears to be a very subtle bug (most likely a race condition) in SPTPS that causes state to become corrupted during SPTPS key regeneration. The tinc version currently deployed to my production nodes is git 7ac5263, which is somewhat old (2014-09-06), but I think this is still relevant because the affected code paths haven't really changed

"Invalid KEX record length" during SPTPS key regeneration and related issues
I sent you a pull request that addresses the general issue, at least for the short term: https://github.com/gsliepen/tinc/pull/83 On 16 May 2015 at 19:36, Guus Sliepen <guus at tinc-vpn.org> wrote: > On Sat, May 16, 2015 at 04:53:33PM +0100, Etienne Dechamps wrote: > >> I believe there is a design flaw in the way SPTPS key regeneration >> works, because upon reception of

Excessive disk activity from browse.dat regeneration
Greetings, I'm trying to track down and eliminate the sources of excessive disk activity in an idle system that is resulting in premature hard disk failure. Access time updates to inodes turned out to be the worst culprit, triggering writes every 35 seconds or so. Mounting filesystems with the noatime option fixed that problem. But not too far behind inode updates is the frequent

index.html keeps getting regenerated
(let me start with an apology; I''m sure this is a dumb question, but I''ve looked everywhere and can''t find an answer. Thanks in advance for your patience) I''m in the middle of deploying an app, and it _looks_ as though everything is set up properly as far as my routes.rb and whatnot. However, even though I''ve deleted the public/index.html file,

Do index files need removing when upgrading 1.0-stable to 1.0-alpha1 or later?
Hi Timo, Just a quick question: do index files still need removing when upgrading from 1.0-stable (as in the testXX series) or will Dovecot regenerate them automatically? I'm expecting to go with 1.0-stable on Tuesday for my 20,000 users (as that's what I've been testing), but if we see lots of index issues, I may want to upgrade to alpha1 (or later) fairly soon afterwards and it

Speeding up configuration log regeneration?
Hi, We run four-node Lustre 2.3, and I needed to both change hardware under MGS/MDS and reassign an OSS ip. Just the same, I added a brand new 10GE network to the system, which was the reason for MDS hardware change. I ran tunefs.lustre --writeconf as per chapter 14.4 in Lustre Manual, and everything mounts fine. Log regeneration apparently works, since it seems to do something, but

regenerate Rscript after moving R installation
L.S. In this bug report https://bugs.r-project.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=14493#c1 it is mentioned that after moving an R installation one should regenerate the Rscript executable. Is there an easy way to do so (after an R installation has been moved)? I have not found any information in the R installation and administration manual. Many thanks in advance for any pointer. Best wishes,

rebuilding indexes for dovecot pop3
Hi. doveadm -D fetch -u login \ 'imap.envelope imap.bodystructure size.virtual date.received' '*' according to mail archives allows to regenerate indexes and precache specified headers for imap usage. What headers are needed for dovecot pop3 daemon? I have one server where dovecot works for imap only. For pop3 there is different software being used. I want to migrate to

Regenerating mdbox/sis
It's apparent I have some level of corruption in my mailboxes - something to do with the combination of mdbox, sis, and zlib. I should note that I know I have a mix of compressed and raw messages - if that makes any difference in identifying the problems. I think I need to somehow regenerate the mailboxes with issues. Is there a suggestion for how to accomplish this? Should I perhaps use

Can we cache user home pages?
Hi Railers, I am trying to create a simple application like a guest book which has users and uses sessions to keep track of which users are logged on. The user''s page is constructed after doing some SQL queries and the user clicks on another link and hits the back button I dont want to regenerate the whole page (which is what happens now) .So I want to use some kind of caching mechanism.
