Hi list,
Today i tried upgrading my dovecot server from 0.99.14 to 1.0alpha3.
Unfortunately the new version does not work. The log file says:

Fixes several crashes. Apparently can still break with mboxes, although
it works with me..

Rogue child imap processes when using Mac imap clients
hi all-
I am currently running dovecot 0.99.10p2 on OpenBSD-3.4-snapshot. It has
been very stable, but I have recently noticed that I am having problems
when checking IMAP-SSL mail with Mac OS X clients. There are not
problems using Mozilla or Outlook on Windows, but Mac clients
(Thunderbird, Mozilla, Mail.app) all exhibit the same behavior - they
can check and send mail, but I end up with a

wishlist for ogg123 += Non-blocking verbose messages
Hi,
I am using the ogg123 player through an emacs interface to mpg123 I
patched up to support ogg123 (shameless plug, see
http://asf.void.at/emacs.html). This has a problem (apart from it being
emacs, which might offend some of you (-:):
The verbose output from ogg123 is collected and inserted into a
temporary buffer. This works when emacs has nothing else to do, but
fails when it blocks. Then,

xmms vorbis titlestring patch
Hi,
I managed to patch the xmms vorbis plugin to allow specifying
arbitrary tagnames to be displayed in xmms' titlestring as well as
conditional tag displaying.
You can get the patch (against cvs) from here
http://www.uni-jena.de/~p6best/comp/diffs/xmms-cvs_vorbistitle.diff.gz

Configuration file format changes
After tomorrow's 0.99.8 release I think it's time for a new config file
format. It could be made backwards compatibile with the old format, but
there would be new tree-like categories. I was thinking something like
this:
# global settings
protocols = imap
# "foo.server.org" is just descriptive name
# settings inside server { .. } will override global ones.

Easiest CD --> Vorbis
What's the easiest single step command to use cdparanoia & oggenc to convert
a CD straight into oggs without sucking a ton of disk space for WAVs in the
meantime? Is it possible to do it so that the WAV rip resides in memory and
only the ogg gets written to disk?
Thanks,

"vorbiscomment"
Hello,
I'd like to use abcde to rip my CD:s to Ogg Vorbis format - but abcde wants
a "vorbiscomment" in my PATH. I assume it's a tool for inserting meta-data
into Ogg Vorbis files, but where do I get it? The vorbis-tools package
doesn't seem to contain it.
(Platform: Linux)
Thanks!

Frequent Out of Memory for service(config)
Hello Group,
We have dovecot deployed as solely a Pop3 service that is used by our
applications to pass mail from one application to another internally. We
have roughly 4 applications that connect to the Pop3 service every 2
seconds, to check for new messages and pop them for processing if they are
present. Depending on the site, we have between 1024-2048MB of memory set
for default_vsz_limit.

process imap SIGSEGVs when getting STATUS on mbox box
Hi,
I just added an "archive" mbox namespace to my dovecot setup, so that
people can put their old mail into a slightly more inode-friendly
box. When querying the STATUS on one of these boxes, I got a sigsegv:
Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.

IMAP Memory Error
Hi,
I recently upgraded dovecot on an OpenBSD server from the 0.99.x series
to the 1.0-test series to eliminate a problem. That was fixed, however I
am now experiencing issues with IMAP(S) connections. The main IMAPS use
to the server is via Squirrelmail (many users login with it), however I
typically use Thunderbird. The user mailboxes are stored in Maildir format.
Basically, moving,

Out of memory problem
Hi guys,
Running SuSe 9.3 with dovecot 1.0.alpha3 source installation.
One of the users has quite a lot of important email in a folder, but
when he trys to view this folder, it either sits and waits, and then
times out, or just logs out straight away.
Looking in the log(/var/log/mail), I'm getting the following error.

"Out of memory" error in 1.0alpha3
Hi All,
I have Dovecot 1.0 Alpha3 running on x86_64 Linux 2.6 multi-CPU box
using Maildir folders. Moving messages from one folder to another in
Thunderbird 1.0.7, regardless of their size (usually small), produced
error 83, "Out of memory", when both of these parameters were unset
(default): mail_read_mmaped, mmap_disable. The log line before the error
was pool_system_malloc():

doveadm-server uses 100% cpu and never finishes, dsync backup also never finishes
Hi Guys,
I have a quite interesting problem.
I have two servers that replicate to each-other. Suddenly one of the accounts is starting to eat a very large amount of disk space on, what basically is the replica for this account. doveadm-server seems to hang and keeps on filling the disk.
I came across this message in the logs:

[PATCH] nv50_disp_chan_mthd: ensure mthd is not NULL
Hi Fr?d?ric,
It appears Ben made his own version of this patch (probably based on
the one you added to the kernel bz), and it's already upstream:
