Problem with dovecot on home LAN
At present I get email directly on my laptop in /var/spool/mail/* through uucp. I'd like to get the email in the same directory on my desktop (alfred), and then run a mail server on the destop and collect the email on my laptop (william) (or on other computers on my two little home LANs, ethernet and WiFi). I was advised that dovecot was a good imap server for this purpose (I tried

KMail + dovecot
Is anyone running docecot on a home LAN. to give an IMAP feed to other machines on the LAN? I am running dovecot on my desktop, alfred. I want to collect email on my laptop, william, using KMail. As far as I can tell, dovecot is running perfectly. I can bring email from /var/spool/mail/tim on alfred to the same directory on william by running "fetchmail alfred" on william. I can then

I have a question on how to set up usernames under Linux/NT so that our new Samba setup works properly. This is how our new system is going to work: DOMAIN "OB-GYN" "Alfred" -- Windows NT PDC (NT Server 4.0) User Profiles stored on this machine Since it's a PDC, it processes login requests Also WINS server

spamassassin with postfix/dovecot
I'm trying to install spamassassin on a postfix/dovecot server, running CentOS-6.4, following the instructions at <http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Amavisd>. I think I have taken all the steps indicated, and the configuration seems to pass the tests suggested, although the response is much more sparse than that described: ------------------------ [tim at alfred ~]$ telnet localhost 10024

postfix-dovecot via lmtp
I've been trying for some days to get postfix + dovecot + pigeonhole/sieve working on a CentOS-7 home server. Problem with graphics on latest CentOS 6
Am I the only one seeing this issue? Or is it that so few people are still running CentOS 6.x? Quick summary, on a very recent Dell motherboard using the on-board vide and booting the latest CentOS 6 kernel with the ?vga=xxx? parameter set to any non-default value results in unusable X11 graphics. Vulnerability in gnuTLS
Hello, There is a vulnerability described in the gnuTLS library which is used in libvirt: https://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2014-3466 We are using libvirt 0.8.7 on Windows so my question is: Is there already a windows version with a newer gnuTLS library which has a fix for the mentioned vulnerability? --- Sent from my Fujitsu Lifebook E782 With best regards Alfred Boehme

RE: newhidups and APC Back-UPS CS 350 (Thomas Jarosch)
Thomas, The none (-22) message in your log is an errno from the libusb_get_interrupt() call in HIDGetEvents() in libhid.c. It indicates an invalid ioctl type. In HIDGetEvents() there is a comment with that call: /* needs libusb-0.1.8 to work => use ifdef and autoconf */ You may want to make sure your libusb is up-to-date. Hope this helps, AG --

/sbin/upsdrvctl unable to shutdown UPS ...
Charles, When sorting out the library problem for shutdown, please also keep in mind that the shutdown scripts (at least those that I have encountered so far) insist on unmounting /dev/usb. This requires that libusb does not rely on its presence to do the reconnection for the shutdown. I don't know if this is a part of the definition of the functionality of libusb and if it can safely be
