0.99.10.6 -imap flag update problem still present
Hi, the email status problem that I reported for Dovecot 0.99.10.5 on June 3rd does still show up in 0.99.10.6. Quoting myself: (1) When new mail is delivered to the inbox, the last read mail(s) change(s) to "unread". Clients: Eudora 6 (Mac), Mozilla 1.6 (NetBSD, Linux, Win XP), MS Outlook. (2) When you attempt to move mails from the inbox to another folder with Mozilla (1.6 on

This is a production machine, so I would rather stick with the downgrade until you've looked into the issue. I went home late yesterday. ;) Cheerio, Hauke -- The ASCII Ribbon

Dovecot 2.3.0 TLS
All, our dovecot installation provides a bundle of intermedia CA certificates using the ssl_ca option. 2.3.0 does not supply the bundle, resulting in various clients either complaining about an unverifiable server cert, or quietly not connecting. The log has Jan 5 17:01:46 Bounce dovecot: imap-login: Disconnected (no auth attempts in 0 secs): user=<>, rip=XXX, lip=YYY, TLS

rc18->rc19: read/unread/reply flags broken
Timo, This might be a bit vague, but I have noticed that rc19 seems to have broken the read/unread/reply flags in imap. My officemate has had problems with messages that are read and marked as read then mysteriously get remarked as unread the next time email is checked. I've had problems where I reply to a message and it does not get marked as "answered". We didn't see this

0.99.12 released
One change since -rc1 (the last one below). - Fix memory leaks in LDAP, MySQL and PGSQL userdb/passdb - Fix hanging when parsing mails that have over 4096 bytes in one line (SMTP servers normally don't allow over 1000 bytes so it shouldn't be much of a problem) - FETCH BODYSTRUCTURE sometimes gave a wrong reply (eg. with FETCH (BODYSTRUCTURE RFC822.SIZE) if it wasn't

What about saving your INBOX at ~/mbox ?
Hi, folks. I'm testing out RedHat's "Fedora Core 2" release, which has switched from the old WashU imapd to dovecot-0.99.10. Overall, this looks like a really, really good move on their part: it looks like a very sweet little tool without some of the ingrained idiocy of Mark Crispin insisting that every home directory consist of nothing but mbox files and allowing you to use a

File isn't in mbox format - error
HI, I recently upgraded an wu-imap server to dovecot dovecot-0.99.11-1.FC3.3 without big trouble (the subscribed mailboxes had to be added by hand...) But today users told me that there where some problems; e.g. a user tried to delete a message and got this error: Oct 19 09:43:13 mail imap(jmeinken): File isn't in mbox format: /home/mitarbeiter/jmeinken//Trash This didn't happen

feature request / question?
Occasionally we get a user who decided they need to pop their account 3 to 4 times a second... usually I just disable their account and shout "no!", but now I have someone trying to do it repeatedly with an invalid username so I don't know who to spank. =) Before if this happened I would block the IP and wait for someone to complain... dovecot doesn't make that very

Stale imap processes
Anyone have any theories or experiences as to why for a certain user, some of his imap processes hang, and stay around for days and days? He just reported that his Thunderbird was timing out when trying to open folders, I looked on the server, and he had 3 old imap processes from 1 week+ ago. I killed those and his performance immediately improved. He checks mail with Thunderbird > 1.5

OT: NIS Authentication
Ran into a major issue with my setup overnight: We have a Win2K AD domain running SFU with a master and 1 slave NIS server. Our mail server is a FC1 box that runs dovecot and a MailScanner/sendmail config. The mail server is configured as a NIS client. The problem is that we lost power overnight and all of the boxes shutdown after the UPS's ran out of battery. After the power came back on,
