A Couple Assertion Failures
Here's a couple of assertion failures from CVS version as of Oct. 6. There's also a segfault but the core file was empty so I don't know if the log entries are much help. BTW, the searching speed using pine has dramatically improved, nice work! Assertion failure in mail-index-view-sync.c
I have been getting these assertion failures every couple days, killing the IMAP process. After it happens, I can login immediately and everything is fine until it happens again. beta8: cores on corrupted index file
Timo, I saw a couple of these cores over the weekend. The syslog says: May 21 19:04:48 emerald dovecot: [ID 107833 mail.error] IMAP(user): Corrupted index cache file /home/students/s/user/.imap/sent-mail-apr-2004/dovecot.index.cache: indexid changed With a resulting core file from imap at this time. Lock file issues
First off, just want to say Dovecot is great! We have been using it for several months now in a fairly large installation with only a few problems. We are running 1.0.rc28 on three servers with 3 Horde/IMP boxes talking to Dovecot. The user's home dirs are located on an NFS server and the indexes are stored in their Maildirs. I have mmap_disable=yes and lock_method=dotlock in dovecot.conf.

Maildir + NFS + multiple machines = spectacular failure
I'm running beta7 on two machines, with maildir on NFS. I have lockd running on all machines. I've found that Dovecot is highly unstable with NFS when accessing a mailbox on more than one machine at the same time. Both dovecot machines have: mmap_disable = yes lock_method = fcntl NFS is version 3, exported from a third linux machine. All machines are running 2.6.9 kernel. Any ideas

Index corruption ?
Hi, We are using dovecot for some times (a little before 1.0), for IMAP and (a little for the moment) deliver. We have ~20000 logins/day, Maildirs are over NFS (with indexes too, for the moment...) Up to 1.0.5, we sometime have this error in maillog: ________________________________________________________________________ Nov 1 13:55:41 tic dovecot: IMAP(login): file mail-index-view-sync.c:

1.0alpha4: mbox-lock asserts and cores
Timo, I upgraded from alpha3 to alpha4 yesterday, and I am seeing a few of the following asserts: imap(user): file mbox-lock.c: line 379 (mbox_lock_fcntl): assertion failed: (lock_type == F_UNLCK) Gdb info on a couple of the cores is attached. Getting SATA Controller working
I have an SIIG SC-SA4011 (V1.0) SATA controller that doesn't appear to come up. The system has CentOS 6.5 installed on it, and everything on it works, except for this one controller - the other SATA controller, a RocketRAID 1640 works fine. lspci lists the offending controller: $> lspci [... snip ...] 04:01.0 Mass storage controller: Silicon Image, Inc. X-UID gaps cause Dovecot/IMAP to hang
Hi, When the Dovecot 1.0.rc19 IMAP server encounters X-UID headers with gaps in them, it hangs indefinitely. I've attached a sample mailbox (in mbox format) which repeatably exhibits this behavior. The mbox contains only three messages with the following X-UIDs in order: 774, 785, 787. If I remove the X-UID headers from each message, Dovecot handles the mailbox without any problems. UW-IMAP

We don't consider it as "very early beta". We consider it production ready. It is bit more work to set up though. Yes, but the bottom line is that Squat does the job needed for end users, Solr does not On 2018-12-04 16:53, Michael Slusarz wrote: >> On December 4, 2018 at 8:18 AM Aki Tuomi <aki.tuomi at open-xchange.com> wrote: >> >> We don't consider it as "very early beta".
