Dovecot: Mails flagged as read get flagged as unread
Hi Steffen Thanks for the reply! - Users are accessing from multiple devices simultaneously - Each user has his own mailbox, we do not use shared mailboxes regards On 12/06/2016 10:14 AM, Steffen Kaiser wrote: > On Tue, 6 Dec 2016, plataleas wrote: > > > We experience some unexpected behavior with dovecot. Mapping other Inbox method (symlink vs ACL)
Dear Steffen, Thanks for your feedback. Appreciate it. By permission I mean (read, write, look-up seen). I dont think symlink will allow these features. ACL does support such features. Only problem is that I have to setacl for individual boxes (ie Inbox,Sent,Junk etc.) On Wed, May 6, 2015 at 1:15 PM, Steffen Kaiser <skdovecot at smail.inf.fh-brs.de> wrote: > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED

Dovecot v1.2 ACL shared-boxes users in SQL, how to remove entries?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello, I noticed that entries added to the ACL dict are not removed, when an user no longer has explicit ACLs to another user, e.g.: [at the beginning no ACLs for "user"] 1 login testuser pwd 2 setacl INBOX user lp 3 deleteacl INBOX user Although "user" has no ACLs of mailfolders of "testuser", the user-testuser

home folder for virtual users with autoexpunge setting
Hi all, I have enabled today the autoexpunge setting for Trash folders, and I am getting the following error when Dovecot starts: imap(<USER>): Error: autoexpunge: Couldn't create dovecot.autoexpunge.lock lock: User has no home directory I understand this is correct: as <USER> is a virtual user, it does not have home folder. Is there any way I can set the autoexpunge plugin

shared folders not working with . separator
Hi, I've been trying this for weeks and never managed to get my mail client to see shared folders. Apparently imap_acl works fine as I can see these entries in the dovecot-acl-list files and the correct entries persist in the client. This is my first dovecot setup so I hope I've configured it right. Everything else works beautifully, thanks. # dovecot -n # 2.2.21 (5345f22):

Dovecot: Mails flagged as read get flagged as unread
Hi all We experience some unexpected behavior with dovecot. It happens that emails marked as read get marked as unread (MUA is Thunderbird on port 143). Unfortunately this happens randomly, reproducing this issue is difficult. We could not find any pattern, it happens rarely. We are running dovecot version 2.2.24 on Debian Jessie (backports repository). /root at dovecot01:~# dovecot --version//

Mapping other Inbox method (symlink vs ACL)
Hi, I am trying to map a account(bob at mydomain.com) to help at mydomain.com. I would like him to see/access Inbox,Sent,Junk,Trash of help at mydomain.com . What would you reckon would be the best way to do this? ACL or Symlink? With symlink, I dont think I will be able to set permissions. Is it possible to use ACL to get the entire email account access(the inbox, junk, sent etc.)?

Shared folders plans for the future
So while driving for several hours in my car recently and having nothing else to do, I started thinking how they could be done. I think the "public folders" configuration will stay as it is now. Does it really even need anything else? The problematic case is how the users can share their mailboxes to other users. There are two problems related to it: 1) How to get (quickly) a list of

Dovecot top stats
Hi, I have being try to track down top email users to sometime. When I do a network traffic check I can see there is about 15 times more email traffic pulled from mail server than sent. The problem I am trying to track down is which users are the culprit. I have enabled doevcot stats and I can do a doveadm stats dump user but I get a 0 for disk_input, disk_output, read_bytes and write_bytes. I

How to see folders/subfolders/emails through imap
Hello all, I am trying to do something very simple - at least thats what I thought. I have some fs, it contains folders and subfolders with email files ordered like maildir. Now I try to set up dovecot on top simply to let some imap account watch these email files. But I cannot see any folders at all. I can create new folders and see them, but I cannot create subfolders as subdirs like

Sieve, shared folders, different daemons
Hi, In our dovecot setup we use 3 different config files. One for maildropping(sieve), one for dovecot/imap on standard ports with ssl config and one for dovecot/imap on standard ports+1 with a different ssl certificate. Currently the client using the standard port+1 config wants to make use of shared folders, but the thing is that the current namespace separator in all configs is '.'.

Copying just the folders to new Dovecot server?
I am setting up a new Dovecot server and I want to start from scratch, i.e. with an empty mailbox. But I want to have the same folders in my new mailbox that I have in my old. Is there a way to create these folders without manually creating one by one?
