Quota without dovecot LDA
Hi all,
I use dovecot with maildir quota plugin + qmail + vpopmail but not dovecot
LDA.
My dovecot configuration:
default_mail_env=maildir:~/Maildir:INDEX=/var/cache/dovecot/indexes/%h/%u:CONTROL=/var/cache/dovecot/control/%h
If CONTROL env is set the maildirsize file is stored
in /var/cache/dovecot/control/ but I use vpopmail as LDA.
It's possible to add a setting in dovecot.conf to

Dovecot 2.1.7 crash (with core dumped)
Hi,
I'm running dovecot 2.1.7 with vpopmail auth and Maildir on NFS (I have
only one POP/IMAP server). All works fine but sometimes dovecot "imap"
process crush and I would like to understand why:

Client got empty email from dovecot
Hi,
I built a mail server with qmail + vpopmail + dovecot , the qmail and
vpopmail worked well, until the dovecot was installed.
Client always get empty email, I have try some solutions from
google, neither of then can solve the problem.
Here is the detailed information of logs, version, and output of
'dovecot -n', please help, thanks.

Auth problem
Dovecot 1.07rc1 on ubuntu 6.04 I get the following problem:

auth error after upgrading from 0.99 to 1 alpha...
so, i use vpopmail to auth my users,but after upgrading from
dovecot-0.99.14-r1 to dovecot-1.0_alpha5 and tweaking dovecot.conf
i get this in the log :

vpopmail/mysql/quota
Hi All,
I'm new to the list and have a quota question. I am building a new server
with dovecot/qmail/vpopmail/mysql and
emails are sending and recieving fine when the quota is set to NOQUOTA, but
when the quota is changed qmail
doesn't deliver any messages. I have read the docs and still need some help
understanding the process for dovecot
quotas relating to the vpopmail mysql database

i have around 12500 users spread over 3 independent servers each having around 4000+ users
i am using qmailtoaster, vpopmail, spamassassin and dovecot.
in future i am planning to consolidate all using a HA cluster.

dovecot logout issues
hi
we are using dovecot version 2.2.7 (config file given below)
centos 6, qmail, vpopmail, mysql
server configuration
hex core processor, 16 gb ram 1 X 600 gb 15 k rpm for main drive and 2 X 2000 gb hdd for data (No raid)
busy server with around 4000 email ids --- load is around 2 to 10
the issue is that SQUIRRELMAIL webmail users suddenly lose connection while they are working on the webmail.

syslog with PID
Hi,
LOG_NDELAY is the only option for openlog() in dovecot 1.1.2.
Wouldn't be
LOG_NDELAY|LOG_PID as option parameter much more useful?
Without logging
the pid, it is impossible to match 'Disconnected' log entries and the
corresponding session start/login. Therefore I suggest to use
LOG_NDELAY|LOG_PID
in the options of i_set_failure_syslog() at all 6 occurrences which passes
it

vpopmail auth always return "unknown user"

Repeat e-mail syndrome shows up in 2.2.26+
Getting complaints from people about pop/imap
issues.
some people are getting repaeted e-mail.
Other are not able to delete their e-mails from an IMAP lcient.
Current configuration

Big quota problem
Hi, I'm using dovecot 1.0a3. I setup my system with quota filesystem.
If a user is over quota and he try to read the email in pop3 dovecot return
the following error:
Oct 14 18:51:59 blackhole dovecot: pop3(user):
write_full(/home/user/Maildir/dovecot-uidlist.lock) failed: Disk quota
exceeded
I think it's a big problem.

Dovecot crashing when attempting to search in virtual folder with fts_squat activated

I am running into a problem when trying to use fts_squat in a virtual
folder. Without fts_squat plugin the search (from, subject...) works in
all folders. With activated fts the search on the inbox folders works

My first time on this list, just switched from courier imap/pop3
system to dovecot. Imap part is great, pop3 seems to suffer, been
fighting it for a week.
