Force "lower case" Folder Creation?
We're exploring the use of "plus addressing" in our MTA (Exim), which delivers "user+topic at domain.com" to a user's "topic" folder. However, the case-sensitive nature of our ext3 filesystem means that a message destined to "topic" won't deliver to a user's "Topic" folder. For example, if a user creates a "Topic"

address extension going into folder
Is it possible with a simple config change to make address extensions, e.g. alice+sales at example.com, go into a folder, e.g. .INBOX.sales, and do so ONLY if that folder already exists (and just go into INBOX if it does not exist)?

Caseless folder delivery?
I'm using exim4 to deliver into dovecot 1.1, and using plus-addressing to deliver mailing lists directly to appropriate folders in my "lists" mailbox. I created a file called /folder-map.lists that looks like ## folder-map.lists dovecot: Dovecot lpedge: Linux PowerEdge ... and so on. So mail to lists-lpedge at jay.fm goes to the "Linux PowerEdge" folder. The one

Ubuntu, Exim, deliver: permissions/setgid problem
Hello all, I have a little problem. I'm trying to set up Dovecot deliver (1.0 beta 3) as the LDA for Exim4 on Ubuntu 6.06 with MBOX, and I'm running into permissions problems. Exim typically wants to run pipes as the user to whom the mail is being delivered (as per the "check_local_user"). deliver needs access to the auth socket and needs to be able to create files in /var/mail.

Permission denied on dovecot.lda-dupes
Hi, I have converted my Imap Server from Courier to Dovecot in order to use sieve support. Everything works fine with the exception that the sender always gets the vacation msg since there is a permission error on writing of dovecot.lda-dupes. I've tried several version of permissions including 777 to both home and maildir - always the same result. I also googled for hours .. Any help will be

writing a dovecot plugin / segfault
Hi together, I am new to this list and new to dovecot itself. I have to write a plugin that implements some ACL-voodoo to be used instead of the standard ACL stuff of dovecot (it shall allow just application-driven folder-sharing - no more, no less). Though I started programming with C, my last experiences are some days old, but now I have written the function sekeletons and the registration

acts_as_taggable plugin: more delimiters?
I''m going through the Recipes book and got to the Tagging chapter, wanted to give it a shot. According to the text, tag_with takes a space-delimited list of tags. Is there a way to use different delimeters, such as commas or single quotes? Some tags can potentially have more than one word, such as ''ice cream''. I''d like to be able to use those without doing

Helper help - inserting delimiters
My ruby skills are a bit underdeveloped, but I managed to whip up a Helper that inserts a delimiter at a fixed position in a number. Any wizards out there that can give tips on how to scale this to accepting calls for putting a delimiter at more than 1 position? def insert_delimiter_at(number, pos, delimiter="-") begin number = number.to_s parts = [] parts[0] =

recipient delimiters
Since many broken websites and idiot companies will not allow a ?+? in an email address, I have long used two delimiters in postfix: recipient_delimiter = +_ However, now that dovecot is handling verification for postfix via reject_unverified_recipient, dovecot complains about any address using an _ as a delimiter. I don?t see a way to tell dovecot what delimiters to use, and it appears it is
