R2WinBUGS awkward to use
Hi All Does anyone know if I can avoid to use the write.model() function below? I dont want to do this. Can't bugs() do that automatically for me just by specifying the 4th argument 'model'? Just I like I am also using the 'inits' object! If I use 'model' in the same way as I use 'inits' I am getting the error: > sim <- bugs(data, inits, parameters,

bind failed on port 445 socket_addr = 0.0.0.0.
Hi, I've just upgraded an old samba 3.0.23 on an old Fedora Core 5 to samba 3.5.4 using an rpm built from the source. Everything works fine, but when i start the server i get some error messages(see below). Before i start the server there is no connection (tested with lsof and fuser) on the 139 and 445 ports, smbd or nmbd aren't running. With the old version i never had this

IO causing major performance issues
Hello everyone. I'm wondering what other people's experiences are WRT systems becoming unresponsive (unable to ssh in, etc) for brief periods of time when a large amount of IO is being performed. It's really starting to cause a problem for us. We're on Dell PowerEdge 1955 blades - but this same issue has caused us problems on PE1950, PE1850, PE1750 servers. We're running

idmap_ad problem and workaround
I have tried to add all of the above to smb4.conf with no luck. I also did a net ads leave, and net ads join. In addition I cleared the contents of /var/db/samba4. Only users who have once been granted access to domain admins will show up. I am becoming more convinced it is something at the Active Directory level. flood of (auth in progress) connections from unresponsive windows client crashing samba
We have been experiencing a debilitating 'bug' in samba where something is causing a flood of the messages seen below in smbstatus and the network drives ( in our case N: ) on all clients become unresponsive. In fact, the entire client becomes unresponsive, essentially making them unusable until samba is restarted. We first saw this and connected it to the following open bug in samba

idmap_ad problem and workaround
The DC's are running Windows Server 2012R2. The directory itself has RFC2307 attributes. The file servers are running FreeBSD with Samba 4.1. These are just member servers not joined as domain controllers. I have tried to upgrade to samba 4.2, and samba 4.3 as a test with no difference. Here is a peak at the smb4.conf via pastebin. http://pastebin.com/Ai14LREW Joe Maloney On Tue, Jan 26,

xen-unstable, winxp32 very poor performance on AMD FX-8150, I bisected and changeset is 24770:7f79475d3de7
I ran a bisect to find out when Windows XP 32 bit becomes unusably slow. And I found the changeset that caused it. ========== The problem: ========== Windows 8 64 bit and 32 bit run fast and fine in the newest xen versions. Windows XP 32 bit runs unusably slow in anything new that I built from xen-unstable, but runs fast in 4.1.2 and 4.1.3 stable. While it is running slow, "xm top" or

9-STABLE, ZFS, NFS, ggatec - suspected memory leak
Hi all, Setup: I'm running 2 machines (amd64, 16GB) with FreeBSD 9-STABLE (Mar 14 so far) acting as NFS servers. They each serve 3 zpools (holding a single zfs, hourly snapshots). The zpools each are 3-way mirrors of ggate devices, each 2 TB, so 2 TB per zpool. Compression is "on" (to save bandwith to the backend, compressratio around 1.05 to 1.15), atime is off. There is no

flood of (auth in progress) connections from unresponsive windows client crashing samba
/etc/samba/user_and_group_map.txt contains Windows username/group to linux username/group mappings. In our setup, all users exist in ldap, as do the directory groups, but the linux user and group information (namely uid/gid) do not. This has been setup such that the users connect to samba as the windows username (ex. PRODUCTION+user1) for an authroized group (PRODUCTION+group1), but the files

idmap_ad problem and workaround
Hello all, Samba Version 4.1.21 on 8 servers as member servers configured with idmap_ad. I have all the RFC2307 attributes configured for every user, and group. I wrote a script to ensure that. I have scripts in place to make sure I don't have duplicates, show users without attributes, etc. I also filter out the users I don't want to see by placing them outside of the range set aside

Package "maps": what is the name of county # 2395?
I am using "maps". I am running the following code to get this list of all the counties: map('county', plot=FALSE)$names In the output, all counties have first the state listed and then, after a comma, the name of the county. However, county # 2395 (State = south dakota) has no county name. Anyone knows what this county is? Thank you! -- Dimitri Liakhovitski

Below this is subvolume base, user1 is in base and documents is in user1. documents is mounted at /documents. /etc/exports is: /filesys1/base/user1 172.16.0.0/24(rw,no_acl,no_root_squash,fsid=0) /filesys1/user1-snapshot 172.16.0.0/24(rw,no_acl,no_root_squash,fsid=0)

Is 1.0-test stabilising?
Has Timo backed off work, and been busy with something else, or has 1.0 really stabilised that much? Seems to me just a couple of weeks ago we were seeing a new test release every few days... now there's been nothing all month... I'm hoping it's ready for release... but if it's just that Timo's busy, well, I can understand that. We're about to receive some new

Compressed maildir
Greetings, I noticed a while back someone posted a patch/plugin that allowed Dovecot to use compressed mbox files. I'm now wondering how far that would put us from having compressed maildir? I have a server with more CPU than disk space, and while I can buy more HDD space, my backup solution doesn't make that practical. It seems to me that when looking for a message file, if it

out of disk space notification
Hi Dovecot readers, My server (squirrelmail) provides me with the following error-message when selecting a mailbox (trash): ERROR : Could not complete request. Query: SELECT "Trash" Reason Given: Out of disk space The user is not over quota but for some reason dovecot still thinks this to be true. Can anyone give me a hint for finding a solution for this problem. I have installed:

VGA Passthru - FLR?
Hi, everyone. I''m Guilherme Suzuki (brazillian, by the way) and really interested in xen-vga-passthru. Lately, I bought a brand new Saphire HD 7950 (OC Boost) because I saw in a wiki somewhere that users have been able to passthru these VGA devices to domU (win7, win-xp and so on). But, after I installed it, I executed *lspci -vv* to check if FLR in DevCap was present (which

samba4 best practices questions
I'm interested in using samba4 in a production environment that has multiple locations tied together via a WAN. In order to do so I need to figure out what is the absolute most stable and supported path. I found this email thread here stating samba4 ad roles, and file server roles should be on separate servers. https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/mailing.unix.samba/QySoM_uGGL8 Can

Shaping per IP in PPPoE borrowing or sharing Uplink or Downlink
helo again. I think this question i am asking is worth: we know that pppoe-server creates a pppX device on each connection done to it. So, when i have to shape, i have to shape each pppX connection device on itself alone. What i know is that the borrowing method on one device by itself, e.g. ppp0, alone using HTB or the like. this means that i have to create for another device, e.g. ppp1,

Problem building 1.0-test7 : missing header
Greetings, I recently rolled out Dovecot in our small (<30 people) company, and have been mightily impressed by the quality, performance and ease of use. I was hoping to use the new versions soon, as I'd like to start using CRAM-MD5 (much more common in mail clients than DIGEST-MD5), but found the 0.99.11 versions too unstable. So, I tried to build last nights CVS snapshot (May
